Which Part Points Toward The Front Of The Car? Bend Up Or Down.

And Any Tips Lining Everything Up?
Thanks

I'm not sure it matters, but lay it in there and see if it fits flatter one direction. I just eyeball the latch, close carefully, see where I'm at and adjust from there. Then repeat.

I do not think that striker will fit two ways. I am pretty sure it will only lay flush with the end rolled down pointing forward. I always leave that out and make sure the lid it fitted to the opening first. Then I adjust the striker and latch as needed.

If your using the same latch and catch start off by bolting both pieces in going by the witness markings .
Then eye ball as you bring the lid down.
Adjust the up and down for a loose fit then adjust your way down for a snug fit.
Use a dollar bill or similar to check for seal contact all around.
