I have 72 Plymouth satellite 440 bored 30 over with mild cam with 8.75 rearend that has 3.55 gears. It will have a 727 with performance clutches...What stall converter should I get and how high like 2300 or? It will be daily driver but don’t want it to be a slug. Want it to be smooth

You have to match it to the cam. ruffcut

2300 to 2500 is fun as hell on the street.

Every legitimate converter manufacturer will want all the specifics of your build before recommending a correct model for your use. This has been discussed ad nauseum on this site.

If you figure a factory 11.75” 440 converter is around 2000, that would be the “tightest” option. A factory 10.75” would probably go to around 2500. They can be found fairly easily. Some other 11” would likely provide similar results. You’ll notice the slushiness but it’ll go better off the line.

Mild is subjective at best...but like others have said if its a little bigger than stock 23- 2500 should be in the ballpark for everyday street.
Youre just trying to get the rpm in the "power band" to eliminate slippage, too much and risk the possibility of overheating your trans at lower speeds on the street.
