I need a GTX refresher!

Better safe then sorry, another one will pop up.To me the transmission is just as Important. Those things get changed as the years go by, and many people just put in a rebuilt from god knows what. And good luck finding a correct one with that mopar part number if the car has lost the original.

I agree. I'm just impatient!! I better find something soon or I may do something dumb with the money:lol:

try to be patient,, conversely, a good friend of mine spent years finishing a 69 Torino GT That I had sold him. a few nights ago a party a guy offered him 30k for it, in cash on the spot. Bill had been drinking, and finally agreed. the next day he woke up so mad at himself he was fit to be tied. Two days later the guy calls him and asks if he would take the car back,as when he got to work he was told his job was eliminated. Bill breathed a sigh of relief, and handed the money back. sometimes fate leans in the right way. I had purchased the car from the original owner, and Bill restored it, as he has a shop and that is his job. 390 Four speed Fastback concours car.

so you chose to avoid a possible bad deal, and Bill avoided a tragic end to the type of car he drove in 1983.
so two rules: be patient,, and don't sell your car after you have been drinking! Lol

Says it’s the original drivetrain, but says there’s no numbers to correlate that! So, you should just believe him? And he doesn’t have time to talk on the phone and doesn’t text? For $38k, I’d want to talk to the seller, good thing you passed on it. It is a beautiful car, just something a little shady about his approach.

For me? What immediately held the car back was an automatic transmission. This is just my opinion. But I honestly believe one misses some of the muscle car experience with an automatic trans? And with the other irregularities mentioned? I wouldn't feel bad at all passing on this car.
