I'm looking into one & I see that there's several different types. Anyone got any experience with them?

My parents had one on their place in Florida. They liked it. It operated well. pretty simple really. Just a giant sized sliding screen. He had his screwed into the door framing on the outside of the garage doors. Lift the doors and it's there. I would think winter would mean taking it down.

BTW, he had the lower track sunk into the concrete so he could roll in and out without having to run over the track. Just blow it out with the leaf blower occasionally.

Nothing that big...I had some screens made up for our sliding doors in the lounge...to keep out pesky flies and bugs etc....and stop inquisitive cats from next door poking around. Drop in type....simple frame with fine insect mesh.

I’m guessing that you don’t have a bunch of ground heaving like we had in northern wis. Frost going into the earth over 4 feet deep. In that case you’re probably OK.

I had a screen over? In front of? The garage door on the house in Fla. they’re great. Keeps the bugs out and lets in lots of fresh air. We had the laundry out there. Different world. When you moving down?

We got ours last spring, we just love them. Easy install and as others stated they have the sliding door.

My grandparents had a screen door on their garage in Wild Rose, WI where they had a bar and hung out to play cards. It was a second roll up door but I can’t for the life of me remember how it worked. I think it might have been on the inside of the main, solid roll up door.

I don't have the link but the brand was Lifestyle Garage Door Screens, they come in different styles single, double and color options for the screens. They require a separate track system than the garage doors, they are included. Well worth the cost, turns the garage into a 3 season porch.

My brother has the sliding up screens in his 3-car garage - they set on a separate track above the OH door track. He said he likes them; but said something about the single bay install that irritated him. Got to ask him what it was as don't recall offhand.

I have one in a box somewhere...not a "screen door", but a screen panel with velcro edges (you put tape on the doorframe), and a velcro opening in the center so you can open it like a curtain, walk through, and close it back up. Never really messed with it. A buddy gave it to me, I just never had the urge to do anything with it. I don't do enough "nice" stuff in the garage to worry about bugs...

The elderly lady that used to live across the street opened the garage door before backing and ran through her screen. I'm seeing these screens popping up all over now, must be a northern thing.

Don't like the bugs. Less of them up North...

We have one of those going from the kitchen to the back yard. Installed it once the grandkids started walking. They're very convenient, especially when walking back in with a platter full of burgers fresh off the grill.

That Lifestyle setup is pretty cool. Looks like they’re about $1000.00 on amazon
