Am i crazy (Driving 69 Satellite from Kentucky to Oregon)?

I live up in Canada and my pickup truck was in the shop so I had to drive my 71 Challenger the 120 miles each way to work in January with -20 weather. It was all good except the heater core was plugged so I'd drive the 2 hours in my snowmobile suit, toque, snowmobile gloves and an ice scraper to scrape the windshield. No one dies on these deals but it does show if you're up to living life or watching other people living life.
I spent 18 months in Minot, so I know what cold can be. But 120 miles everyday without a heater? Yikes! You certainly have a constitution!

Update. Fueling up in Big Springs, Nebraska. Still getting lots of thumbs up going down the interstate! This wind is hell on mileage though! Only got 12-13mpg the last two legs.

Thought I’d take a close up shot of the rims in case anybody wants to get a set. Haha... you know you want some!

Have you had any oil leaks? Any mechanical troubles at all?

Not every day. I went up and back once a week. Total of 4 times as I recall. Honestly it wasn't bad other than scraping the inside of the windshield, the chothes kept me warm and I was used to sledding anyway. I think I was about 25 at that time and you just do what you have to.

Sounds like the Satellite is about 1/3 of the way home?

Sam69sat!! ENJOY EVERY MINUTE OF YOUR TRIP! Stories & memories forever etched in your mind. Old LA 318 is "old reliable", parents had in taxis back in 69-73. Yes, those rims HAVE to go, resemble the rims on my old Honda VT1100 motorcycle, YUK!! Wally world probable has long johns on clearence by now if need. Sweet car. KEEP ON "MOPARING"!!

Just wanted to make a quick post. Took a detour to Sidney, Nebraska for a car **** photo shoot. I’ll try to answer questions tonight.

Just rolling through Pine Bluffs. I guess that means I’m in Wyoming! It’s a long ways across Nebraska. The western part reminds me a lot of home in Eastern Oregon. Pretty country. I wish I had more time to go to every little town. I definitely haven’t been breaking any speed records. Everyone passes me but I’m fine with it.

Last photo of the night before it got dark. There was a large wolf statue or something just across from this on a little bluff but the sun was in the wrong spot to get a good photo

Did you drive interstate 74 through Illinois? We could of hung out a bit...I wish I had been paying closer attention.

Oh man, that would’ve been cool! I took off from Bowling Green, Kentucky up to Evansville Indiana then over to A town called Fairfield then up to Champaign Illinois. Seemed like lots of little highways most of the way. Was nice being on those small roads. I think I was n 74 once I got to Champaign?

thank you! It’s been stressful but also lots of fun. Just wish I had more time to drive around and look at stuff.

Like I posted early on, take a few extra days.... Your there now, it's quite likely you won't find the time to get back there.... I know I've been places in the past that I fully intended to go back & check out again later but later just never happened... My advise? Slow down & enjoy your drive...
