Hello! I have installed a new engine in my Polara wich is a 505 stroker rb with a edelbrock Victor intake. So now the carburetor sits much higher and the stock throttle cable is too short.

I made a temporary extension that sort of works but i need to replace the cable and do it properly, i dont want anything to have a risk of binding or popping loose.

So im asking for recommendations on what to buy, is there some kit that fit the stock pedal or do i need an aftermarket pedal as well? Lokar seem to have good cables?

Its a 4-speed so i dont need a kickdown cable, just the throttle one.

Appreciate all input.

did you measure the required length?
Something like that here could fit

I havent measured the lenght yet, but around 24" seems to be about right when using a high rise intake.

That one looks good, but i would prefer something that i can buy directly here in sweden, i would like to install it within the next week.

I have tried to research this a bit myself and from what i understand the lokar cables fit the stock pedal if you remove the clevis pin, does anyone know if this is true?

Perhaps a cable for a car with a slant six would work? Seems like they had a longer cable, maybe.

I just bought one of these. Very nice. Made a simple bracket at the carb. Even in the position its used in this application I cut aprox 8" off. Instead of the rubber spacer at the gas pedal I made one from brass. Cut the threaded end down for full travel. Slant 6 is the longest or factory cable.

That looks identical to the Lokar cable so that should work for me as well, ill get the 24" variant and shorten it. Awesome, thanks a bunch!

I just went through the same deal. I bought a 24.5 inch throttle cable from Rick Erenberg on Ebay. Fits great.

They fit

I had a similar siuation wih my 65 Bel. I am using an M-1 singal plane wh a Holley. I ended up with a 24 inch cable, and an extended height adjustable cable mounting bracket. This setup also allows me to use up to a 1 inch carb spacer, if I choose to. It all came from Mancini.

Thats what I use the Lokar cable. Good thing is the bracket that holds it bolts to the rear carb stud so it will be at the right height. I have had the Lokar cable like that on my 63 since 2006. Ron
