Will a '76 Charger roof fit cleanly on a '74 Charger?

I found a fairly cheap '76 roof in a yard locally and I need to address rusty roof issues on my '74 SE (had a sunroof so it's pretty rusty). I think the answer to this question is "no" but I wonder if anyone has solid compatibility info?
 
It's close.

At least the front is.

I'm interested in seeing it as well.
 
yeah the front is what I need- I'm thinking I might just pull the trigger and *make* it work

I think you are WAY better off finding the right repair panel. A roof isn't a part that most people need, so you should be able to find one

Wheels of Terror, your inbox is full.... I was gonna suggest you contact Turners Auto Wrecking in Fresno.... They still have allot of old cars & they don't stack cars... We have a local yard that has allot of old cars & I know they have a couple 72-74 Chargers but they stack them so the roofs are junk...

also what is the local yard? Just in case I need something other than a roof I guess
 
Buddy swapped a T top Magnum roof onto his Cordoboat back in the day. It worked well.
 
Go buy the windshield trim.

If it fits on your 74........
 
71-74 Dodge Chargers and 71-74 Satellites use the same roof.

Most of roofs are rusted due the vinyl top or as mentioned smashed due the cars being stacked at JunkYards. Hard to find them really and not repros available

Turner up in Fresno has one for $500- the rust issue Nacho mentions is present- looks like plain surface rust- I am considering it but that's a hell of a drive from LA for an expensive roof- still might do it though. Again thanks for the suggestion.

any advice Nacho? Should I just pull the trigger on the expensive one? Ever heard of anyone getting a Gen 4 Charger roof to work?
 
Can't talk about. Never have measured the later B bodies roof. I know the windshield is the same, just that. On my 74 I had to patch the roof skin on all the windshield area fromside to side. Even the inner beam had to be patched. I dream someday in the future to get some donor for these parts no matter if I have to make a body work again.

I still can't get AMD making Ramhoods ( expensive of course ) and not Roof skins considering all 71/74 Chargers AND 2 doors Satellites use the same piece.
 
it truly is a pain in the butt. I may go down to the yard this weekend and see if that roof is still there. Great info to know that the windshield is the same! That seems promising.
 
There is a 74 ( add says 73 but is 74 really ) being sold on facebook in 2K at Mopar Trade Page group with lot of good parts on it ( I'm drooling on some ) to be parted out. Roof is intact with just surface rust. Unfortunatelly located in SD

Very interesting it got brougham panels on Hardtop REALLY WEIRD. Is the second one I'm aware. The first one become on a panels donor for my car and it was in Canada.
