It would be nice if you would please give us some info on why why this is interesting or what it is about. I'm not chasing down random links.

An NFL player does something good, good for him.. an act like that deserves a pat on the back. Sexual assaults should be punishable by death in my book!

just another copy-paste post

oh well

Shouldn't need a award to do the right thing!
Someone said the guy attacking the lady was nfl player too. Might be false I didn't look into it .
But all in all it's a positive thing

125 posts and seven pages most of them negative about a black golf player who had a driving accident and one post about a black athletic who stoped a horrific crime and the lousy low comments above. Typical haters

Yes it is a positive thing in a time that positive things are seemingly lacking.
Civilian awards for acts like what that guy did are given out all the time, it was given not asked for
I have no idea who "someone" is and id be interested to know who said the attacker was a NFL player
Don't be like the rest of the haters here, I always thought more of you than that

I gave no consideration to the color of his skin and personally did not know. But it makes no difference as to why doing the right thing even needed to be associated with the NFL. Was this to be in as a fashion statement for BLM or an NFL promotional? Either way just plan stupid to me.

Although I personally boycott the NFL for a few years now, there are good people such as this guy. Deserves the recognition for doing the right thing.

Doing the right thing doesn't ever deserve an "award ". Just do the right thing and refuse unnecessary recognition. Actions speak louder than words. The NFL is loaded with felons, abusers and pampered cry babies. They have been dead to me for years.
Steve, you just can't get enough of that progressive, social justice Kool-aid can you?

True, Jesus told his disciples clean yourself up before you go out and spread His word. He told us acts of kindness mean more when done without calling attention to yourself
The way you interpret this thread is the way you see it. I saw it as some sports figure stoping a horrible assault.
Dont game the guy who stoped it because the media seized a chance to put a story out there
Using the logic I see here nobody who does a brave thing be they a NFL player or a everyday person should be questioned if they get any recognition or honor's from the city/town were they live.
I can only wonder if it was a white anyone else would I be accused of drinking kool- aid

He also said "keep your faith as a light under a bushel". Don't go around expecting applause for doing the right thing. Doing right is supposed to be the rule, not the exception.

Sure, it's nice to hear the guy did right.

The depressing part (and this should be a wake-up for society) is that it's the exception. THAT is what we need to fix.

We don't need to reward people for doing right. It is a reward unto itself. What we need to do is punish those who do wrong - which is sorely lacking in today's world of 'participation trophies' and 'thass raciss!' screams when criminals actually get prosecuted for what they got caught doing wrong.

Wow, some of you really have a way of turning a positive story upside down? I get the whole "you shouldn't get a reward" point but I'm assuming the assault was reported therefore providing the man's name which resulted in recognition for his actions none of which he had anything to do with? Like most I can't stand the NFL, don't watch it and refer to it as thugball but I don't mind seeing that there's actually some good guys in the league either. Now if he goes out on every talk show to talk about his heroism then yeah, he's seeking attention.

I wouldn't care if he was purple, the NFL is an embarrassment to America.

Doing the right thing does not always deserve an award, but I believe we should publish equal good news as the bad.
I also believe everything is contagious. Good deeds just don't make the front page like they should.

Good deeds just don't make the front page like they should.
That was my point, though.

Good deeds shouldn't have to make the front page.

In a good society, good deeds are the norm. They are assumed.

Unfortunately today's society...is not 'good'. And, we're moving further and further from that side of the spectrum.

A remark I heard many decades ago: It's not the "news media", it's the "advertising media". That is to say, report what will get the public's attention...to sell "papers" (media) which is chock full of advertising.

Nevertheless, good to see someone actually took the initiative...took action...to meaningfully help someone.

Don't watch or deal with the NFL.

There have been numerous threads about good actions/deeds/ helping others posted by the very people who did these acts and all the replying posts were supportive and congratulating. Often offering praise to the person.
Whats the difference here, a guy came across a violent attack and stoped it. He didnt know if the attacker was armed, he possibly saved the woman's life and I very simply posted it and what's the reaction....Negativity. Why because you truly believe this good deed doesn't deserve some sort of recognition or because he's a black NFL football player and we cant give black NFL football players any kind words.
If it was a white conservative anybody, you'd all falling all over yourselves, reaping praise
Its a sad day when a good deeds thread cant be posted without receiving the lousy comments noted here...But thats what the FBBO forum has turned into.
Stumble outside of its intended purpose and be subject to racism, homophobic, intolerance and just plain nonsense.
