Currently 4 blade fixed fan. Looking for good source of 7 blade fixed and also shroud.

Why? I have a 4 blade fan on correct Max Wedge clutch with a correct look radiator that cools with no issues without a shroud.

We used the jaguar short stub clutch and Mopar fan. Had the saddles moved back 1/2" to move the radiator slightly forward. Works great.

I had a 4 blade with clutch on my 70 440 with no problems, just was not correct.

Thanks for the replies I'm going to try mine with a shroud to see the effects with that. Mine runs a little warm in traffic doesn't overheat but to me a little higher than I like. I figure the shroud should help flow across the radiator in traffic.

Is your radiator the original? My thoughts are that it could only need to be cleaned and rodded. I had a similar experience with my Superbird. It wanted to run warm or even hot in traffic, but when it got to the point of not cooling all the way back down when on the open road, I was prepared to have it recored. I pulled it and away to the radiator shop. They checked it, took it apart and cleaned and rodded the core, and reassembled it. That was hundreds less than a core and it now cools as good as new. Mine was the original radiator and I still have all of my original radiator and no cooling issues, for about the cost of a pusher fan. I know you want to fix your car and not just cover up a problem for a little more time. This may not be the answer, just my thoughts.

I use a 5 blade flex fan on my '64 Polara with metal 22" shroud. It cools the 440 fine. It is a Mopar fan # 4071034. I think is off a late '80's 5th Ave.

Yeah, I'm getting some questions answered to look at addressing the problem before I start just buying parts and changing anything. I know cars this age need to be gone through and be brought back to what they were coming out of the factory to perform to at least that standard. Also more fan blades and a shroud should make for better air flow across the fins to cool better but the system needs to be clean to start with and that is number one on my list.

My game plan now will be clean and flush system and add shroud with stock fan that should do what I want. Bought the shroud from Mancini racing.

Is that fan shroud the one where you have to use zip ties through the cooling fins to mount it? Send some pics after you get it in.....thanks!

I used an 18" rigid race fan with steel blades on mine (Summit Racing # DER-17318). It's rated to 8000 rpm and with my home made shroud works fine and keeps my mild build 440 at 180 degrees even in the Texas summer heat.

Same one I used. Derale brand. Mine is the 17" yours the 18". Great quality, works great and you can't beat the price!

Very nice work on the shroud ! Buy a kit or build from scratch? I need one for my car . Been thinking of a kit from speedway or summit and modifying as needed .

I drew it up with the measurements and had a local fabrication shop make it. I didn't have access to the machinery and a heliarc like I did when I was working.

Fan & clutch from Mancini. Fits great, waiting to test the temps...
