Anybody know if there were any later turn signal switches that took the place of the 1968 1969 2857241's?

Was a valid # up until '82 at least..

What is GIS? Been poking around the web and getting a bunch of different #'s as well. Problem is I can't verify that they are the same as what I am looking for. The original 2857241 had the lane changing feature, and that would be kind of nice to have.

GIS = Google Internet Search

Maybe I should be asking you how many spares you have sitting on your shelf :poke:?
None, that's the one I had to buy ($350) to put in the Bee, after my replacement signal cam fell apart after the 6th actuation...

I hear you. Just bought a replacement for my RR from a guy and the quality is not what I remember.....

50 year old plastic parts that have to flex are not goin to be very reliable, plastic is an oil product and it dries and shrinks and crumbles until it turns to dust , sometimes new old stock can be a waste of time and money ,if you get a new old stock piece don't use it after install if you want it to last, but then how do you know it works right?

I might play along with that ^^^ if it was left outside in the sun. Not in a box on the shelf. BTW, I co-own an injection moulding company. I still have sample parts from our original opening runs for TRW seatbelt division in 1985 of the first plastic locking mechanism they produced for GM. Parts are as good today as they were 36 years ago...

not everyone lives in 90 % humidity , I have seen some parts from the Midwest that were still pliable , out west we have nice rust free bodies but our plastic is dust

ROCK AUTO has a replacement switch setup for $80 and a 24 month warranty...

You don't happen to have that part #?. I can't find them listed there.

Here's a teaching moment. Click on "part number search" in the upper left of the screen and type the OEM number in the box. The site software will find

what you need.

Well that's good to know. Here I was just putting "turn signal switch" in the search bar under 69 RR and getting no results.

I just looked it up by application and it came up.

This morning I stopped at the local Chrysler dealership to get some numbers. The 2857241 was active up till 1992 if I remember correctly. Then there were a few superseded part numbers with the latest being 2947801 which was produced until 2008. I found one of those on eBay and bought it, about $100. less than the 2857241's. I'll post up what it is like when I get it. The one on Rock Auto is the Shee-mar that everybody is complaining about not lasting. I bought one from SlantSixDan (made in Argentina) because he says it is way better than the Shee-mar. I had used one of those in Bee, but must have forgot that it isn't the best either. The 2 brown wires as well as the 2 green wires are the same shade color and the switch is made totally different, so a guy can't compare the wires to the original. Also the one from Dan as well as the Shee-mar does not have the lane change feature that was standard on 1968 and newer vehicles.
