This crap and so many others like it are all about revenue generation (i.e. making money). It has no basis on reality but rather an opportunity for some to sell ridiculous training to terrified company/corporate management types so they can seem "woke" in an effort to either make more money and/or keep the radical left off of them. No one believes this crap to include those who give the training, its purely a "check the block" deal. You can tell this because the slide only addresses one racial scenario; if it were real it would be much more broad based and provide multiple scenarios of differing races and genders (would still be BS but at least it would be a genuine attempt).

The USAF started that stuff way back in the '90s before I retired. Remember the Navy with the Tailhook scandal in 1991? That was the beginning of the end for common sense in the military, IMO. I got to teach airmen in their new jobs from '99 to '15 as a contractor, so I got to watch this forced nonsense balloon into the monstrosity it is now. Like you said, you can barely acknowledge someone's presence without risking someone else losing their minds. Truly sad. No way I could be active duty these days. Common Sense is all but extinct.

Had the same **** in the Army, fortunately we were a 98% all male organization and pretty much ignored it.

Very much true - after all, for every inner city thug they bused into our school, one of ours had to go to theirs...
typical socialist plan gone awry.
Rather than looking pragmatically at a given problem, there's those who simply do what "FEELS GOOD" to them...
well, they caused a lot of damage to a lot of kids in the process, and I'm sure it wasn't just in Atlanta then.

Epilogue to my story:
My dad got a transfer approved and got us the hell out of there; we relocated to the DC suburbs, which
was a culture shock for sure, but at least much safer for us kids.

Many years later, when visiting with my brother and sister who live in the more affluent suburbs north of
Atlanta, she wanted to take me back to the old neighborhood for the nostalgia of it....
Well, what we found was that the "great white flight" that had taken place in the 70's had destroyed the
old "Beaver Cleaver" type neighborhood we had grown up in, replaced by a slum-ridden crack and ho-bag
infested blight.
It destroyed a lot of fond memories for me and I ordered her to get me the hell out of there - and I haven't
been back since.

Net result of the great experiment? The "good" neighborhood was beaten down into being no better than
the slums the busing came from - so now BOTH were armpits of society.

Just mentioning the 'left' or the 'right' is getting on the road to politics. It usually spawns more and more wording that is more political. So far there's been a couple of mods that's been hanging out here so if something does pop up, we can delete or edit individual posts or comments but for the most part, we can't be on the watch 24/7 either. It's when no one is around and things turn south that things get hard to moderate or too time consuming to correct.....and that's when the whole thread gets moved either to the PF or the Trash bin. And yes, there have been some that will turn it political on 'poipous'..........

I fully support moving things to the political forum if they get out of hand in the general forum. On the other hand I am just as against trashing or deleting the posts. My opinion, for what it's worth, that is censorship.
 
I will say that I feel for anyone moderating this or any other forum in today's environment. The line between being political and not is pretty narrow if not non-existent depending on the beliefs of the reader/member. If you lean one way then pretty much everything said by the other is political. Its like the thread on Rush when he passed, it wasn't long before someone was crying about it being political but I am not sure how you can have a conversation about someone like Rush without being political to a degree and still be able to have a conversation.

Tough call sometime. If a post or two can go away and keep the thread from crashing hard that's what we will do. There are a lot of threads that should have started out in the Political forums from the beginning. Non car related threads will end up somewhere but the general car forums. Remember what the forum is about and why we are here.

Well, Rush's show was very political and most know him for that so....if it was started in the General Forum, the thread starter should have known better where it was going to go from the get go......and I'm talking about the direction that it went.

I'm 71 and can remember my dad telling me in the 60's about an aerospace company in Akron having to hire minority machinists. And then training them to be a machinist dealing with 4 decimal points. Totally idiotic!

I was an affirmative action case/example you could say, myself
(some may call it a victim, I don't consider myself a victim of anything)
I even trained my replacement, to be an engineers aide
he didn't have any drafting or mechanical drawing experience, at all
he did do very good measurements & notes for line drawings
very detail-oriented, followed instruction very well, a good employee
but;
we had worked together on & off for about 2 years
I got him the job in SF too, we both started out in GC dept.
(General Construction Dept., before transferring to Corp.)
he was a great engineers aide, assistant, my assistant
but not qualified as I was
the guy was pretty cool, he was about 10 or so years older
very prompt & always on time & has a couple of kids
(I was still single)
But; IMO it wasn't him, it was the company, pushing quotas...
He was black...
That didn't make any difference to me, he was/is a good man
he was still my friend, we got along very well, even after
knowing it was coming...
I'm White, of mostly German Norwegian descent,
my family has been here since 1697...
It was obvious, why...
This was like 1979-80, affirmative action was all the craze...
(before it was considered reversed for, non or unconstitutional bias)

My B-I-L Frank/Taco (of Mexican descent) helped me find the job
I already had worked within the company
He was the Lead Engineer of my dept.
I was org. his engineering aide
he didn't give me the job
But;
I was steered to the HR lady, applied & I was well qualified, so I got it...

I was at the bottom of the totem pole in seniority & experience
in the SF office
I was fresh out of school/college,
even IF I had worked for the company for a longer time
a couple of summers in powerplants
& was better qualified to do the job of engineers aide...

I ended up going back to GC dept. in the powerplants
& moved on completely about a year later, from that

I went on to bigger better things...
It pushed me to do my own thing, so it was sort of a blessing...
after getting the shaft a couple of times, by corporate

But I was involved in it up to my teeth...
