Are Summit Racing getting worse ???

Ordered on monday, got it on Wednesday. Fast shipping and great parts as always. Plus a free hat.

It is not just Summit. It is the entire country. The entire country and anything overseas is on national back order on most everything. I buy hundreds of thousands of dollars of race car and race engine parts everyday. We buy direct from all of the racing suppliers. Even with our larger volumes we purchase can't get us what we need in a timely manner. I still have items from Sept of 2020 that we haven't received.
 
Summit and ALL suppliers should stop the practise of sending out items which have been returned from other customers, without proper examination, and correct packaging.
Not much different than sheetrock, plywood, or lumber I have seen at Depot or Lowes... Some of the warped weathered returned garbage that Depot tries to pass off to another.......

I ordered parts to rebuild my 383 Friday, and everything showed up today. So Jegs seems to be on the Ball.
 
now I need to order Connecting rods, as The pistons and rods I supplied to my builder were TRW Forged 11:0 compression pistons, and I thought it would be better to sell that set as I am going original, 10:0 So I had to dig up a set of stock rods for the builder.
I was told with a 78CC head the compression is 13:0 to 1,and with 88cc it would be 11:0 to 1
So I will be selling them
 
The hats aren't "free"...I look at the hat I got with my last Summit order, and think "there is my $386.05 "free" cap!"
 
Summit is obviously having issues.

I was holding off ordering rod bolts till I ead sure I needed them. The web site said they had many in stock.
UNTIL I went to check out, then it said delivery would be in May!
 
Well, amazingly, I placed an order yesterday morning, and here I am 24 hours later, and the order status shows "SHIPPED"

...and just to show for those who have not experienced or heard of this - International Customers like me are charged in FULL at the time of placing the order...

That's because they know you are a shady character.....
 
Looks like their relationship with PayPal might have something to do with that as well?
 
So I gave them another chance....been waiting a week for tracking information to update....then this morning, and update....and it hasn't even left the USA yet. They really are slipping when you guys claim to get a parcel in 2-3 days, and my order takes a week to go from Ohio to New Jersey.

Not only that, but it's headed in the wrong direction.... :)

I recently sent/shipped some shoes :rolleyes: to NZ, USPS
it took 27 days to get there...

I'll tell you who i'm not so happy with anymore is Speedway Motors. I've bought tonnes of stuff from them in the last 10-15 years and it always went well until this past year. I ordered a fuel log on 4/1 and got the package today, only problems is that it's not my stuff that got delivered ,it's 78-81 Camaro tail lights ( can you believe that someone would pay $419 for repopped Camaro tail lights?.) After 21 minutes on hold the mouth breather on the other end of the line says " You should call back tomorrow between 8-5. Dill holes in the warehouse and in custom service also...great.
 
RockAuto are onto it....ordered some parts last night....confirmation of order and payment received within seconds.....tracking number received while I was at work today. Really happy with them....and I'll get two more fridge magnets. :D

Ordering from the Rock is a gamble where it comes from. I just ordered a set of rotors for my 71 Cuda, but there cordoba rotors,113/4 and they came from the Bronx. I ordered them late Wed. night and got them today on Friday. With Summit or Jegs you have to make sure it's in stock or otherwise a long wait.
