It ain't Friday night yet but every night is Friday night for me.....

Vanishing Point (1st one)
One of my favorite flicks

good song too

Nothin' against Roadhouse, but I prefer this video.............:D

I've always felt they did a pretty good job blending the old with the new rather than just overlaying the video. Only bummer with this one is no sounds of the Challenger.......:(

My 66 has been sitting for a lot longer than that but have been doing a bit of work on it here and there. Getting ready to do some more. Been awhile since seeing ya.....Moparts days....

So many things about this. I saw Vanishing Point at the drive-in 1971. I vowed that I would get a Challenger someday. Now I have a 1971 Challenger. I love this Audioslave song but it's haunting. The lyrics as well as the clips from VP are about suicide because Chris Cornell is asking his creator who gave him life to show him how to live. Chris Killed himself on May 17th 2017.

Yup, in lots of ways the show in itself was sad and I saw that back then. Down side of it all is that suicide is part of our lives that goes way back. Gotta see the signs of it with our family and friends so we can try and help them steer away from it....if we can. Btw, I've had several E cars starting with a 72 in 74. It was a 340 Rallye then got a 70 383 4 barrel that was really nice in 1980....and a 70 440 RT drop top came along in 83 and the list goes on.

Clapton wasn't with the band in the J. Hovah scene but that was around the same time he was hangin' with Delaney and Bonnie..

Everybody interprets the original VP differently. He didn't set out with suicide as the goal, he was a man tired of all the BS life had dealt him. If suicide was the goal, he could have done it any number of times long before the bulldozers.

But I think by the time the dozers were in his path, he didn't really know up from down......at least they crashed a Camaro instead of the Challenger :D

I saw the original VP some years after it came out, probably around 74/75 just as i was getting truly interested in cars. I had just gotten a ride in a 69 Roadrunner that was hopped up and I had decided that I was drawn to Mopars over any thing else, then I saw VP and it was done! I spent a few years trying to get a Challenger and then in 78 I finally got a 74 which I worked on non stop, put a 440 6 pack into it and painted it Hemi orange.

Had a lot of Mopars since and still have a 70 440 Challenger which is a AT car but have thought many times about making a 4 speed.

Well...it's Friday night where I am.....even though you guys are a bit behind, and still stuck in Thursday.

As seen on TV.
