U.S. Radiator 26" for 22" core support

there are extra holes in the core support , it may be set up to use those?
That's what I would guess as well. Look how close the hole spacing is for the passenger side mount.

Looks like a standard 26” bolt spacing, there aren’t holes there on a 22” core support.

1st pic is a ‘70 Charger 26” core support, 2nd is a ‘70 Roadrunner 22”, and 3rd is a stock 26” radiator in a ‘68 Coronet.

Also, the 26” is positioned about 1/2” to 3/4” closer to the frame rail on the drivers side.

At least 3 holes for a 26" rad. are already there on a 22" core support. "Been there, done that" back in the 70's on my '68.

Not on this ‘70 RR

Why would anyone want to put a 26" rad on a 22"' inch hole anyway? Maybe somebody that puts size 12 shoes on size 9 feet?

Out of the radiators in my possession, the 26” radiators are thinner than the 22” and leave more room for fan choices

Better cooling (?) Chop out 2" from the opening. Sorry, there wasn't any thought of originality back then. Functionality was only criteria! That's what we did!
