Oak island

TV in general is a waste of time. Reality shows took over funny sitcoms. And the so called sitcoms today really suck. So a 15 minute show with 3/4s of a hour of non sense leeky pad commercials . Ill take for the week. Its just about over for another season. I hope they find something soon. Im getting to old to just sit and wait.

I sometimes go out with a friend metal detecting looking for gold nuggets. He has a high dollar rig that can go deep and discriminate gold from iron (though we dig everything). I don't want to learn how to run it, he doesn't know everything about it and he has a lot of hours learning. It's faster to have one guy scan, the other dig. I'm perfectly happy as the digger... the pay is the same and my investment is a lot cheaper.

Are you ready, season 11 starts. And we have found wood.
Knock on wood there's an ox shoe nearby!
Yeah guys...That's very funny!
I like the show, and the imagined possibilities. I really want to see some chunks, bricks, piles of gold, silver, and gems.
The Arc of the Covenant! Now THAT would be AMAZING!

i watched for a few seasons, winter tv fodder. but got old and bland . same with gold rush . gave the series binge watching up . now i skip around on u tube watching what catches my eye , i give that about an hour then it’s bedtime…. not much on tv keeping my attention lately….

Season 11 titled “What wasn’t found this time”, just be like all the previous seasons.

File under …… :jackoff:

Metal detecting is one of my other hobbies. Been doing it for 13 years now and I only hunt in the woods at long abandoned cellar holes.

It's a good show and while they haven't made the big find, you have to agree someone went to a lot of trouble to build all of the things they are finding that have nothing to do with search tunnels and such.

It does have a bit of TV drama but it sure beats some of the other lame shows out there.

Something will be found at some point but with it being a show they do have to keep the suspense going.

Over the break, I got news feeds, some ads here on FxBO, and radio teasers that "mystery has been solved".

...but now a new season...

So, what mystery was solved?

I bought a metal detector at a thrift store for $15 about 15 years ago.
I also recently found one in my dumpster.
I don't really go out looking for stuff, but I got my $15 back when I couldn't find thick metal plates for the heavy shop press I bought back then.

I went looking for railroad tie plates where I saw them tearing up some tracks to put in a strip mall.
Bingo- found two 7/16" thick tapered plates, and used them with the press for a few projects, like my 73 UCA bushings.

I've since found some more correct 5/8" flat plates, but it was nice to have anything when I needed it the first time.

Gary’s most famous find is the magnificent Spanish 1715 fleet emerald treasure ring that he found on the beach opposite the wreck site of the Spanish galleon “Nuestra senora de las nieves.” which wrecked on July 31st 1715 during the hurricane that destroyed the Spanish treasure fleet. The treasure ring is made from 22.5 karat Inca gold and set with nine near flawless Colombian emeralds, it is considered to be the prettiest Spanish treasure ring ever found in the US.

I think that guy who was a former slave, who suddenly got rich, found it, and gutted most of it

Watched a few episodes and lost interest.....they seemed to be just more of the same drama.
