Guys,
What welds did they do in the factory in 1970 on the Charger where the upper suspension arm mounts are? Got one really shitty factory weld that was a series of welding blobs, their machine must have been playing up that day. I’ve ground it out and noticed it’s burnt through the upper arm mount. They just welded it up on the other side. I want to replicate the factory weld as close as possible, just not sure if they arc, mig or tig welded these?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Those welds were obviously done by a chicken! I think they may have been MIG welds, applied to look like a chicken did them.
Definitely not TIG.

Thanks Mike, wasn’t sure if they were mig due to them being so wide. Now I have to ask around down here for a chicken that can weld.....lol.

We call that cold fusion. Hit them with the mig and move on. I hit every factory spot weld with a sanding disc. Many have sharp little burrs. You'll be a lot happier later when you wash or wipe down the chassis/engine compartment and you dont snag your hand or towel.

Not sure why you want to replicate the shitty factory welds, I dont think it makes any difference one way or another.
