Some misinformation there I think. I'm not an expert on those cars but I am pretty sure they were all 360+4 with a true dual exhaust system with dual cats. They were a pretty cool package for the day.

Yes, the ones sold in the U.S. market were 360-4V, dual exhaust with dual cats, but not these chianti red ones that were sold in the Canada market.

I met a guy @ Carlisle a few yrs back, he has what is probably the last one of the Canadian versions, and very rough. They were 300's, but like the Magnum GT, I don't think they were stuck with one and only one engine/trans combo.

I saw twelve of these in a row, brand new on a car lot in 1979. Here in Canada, of course. They did have dual exhaust, but I don't recall seeing converters.

There's lots of them up here. I knew they made red ones,, but never heard of 318s or 2bbls..

Around 1986-87, there was a Chianti red 300 on our local Chrysler used car lot. I looked it over. I recall it having a 2 barrel, but do not remember if it was a 318 or 360.

I know at least one that came with a 2bbl and that would be my car. It is a Canadian variant with the 360 CID engine and paint code SR5, Chianti Red. The car is in great shape, only ~3000 kilometers on it. And yes, I have the hub caps, they are in the trunk.

Cheers!

That's a greats looking car. I like the whitewalls and black wheels the way it is sitting now.

From the pages of the Chrysler 300 Handbook put together by Dale Burkhardt & John Veatch.
"Not only did our North-of-the-Border neighbors have no catalytic converters (on the E85 engine) and optional power seats, they and only they. could order a Cordoba with the "Chrysler 300 Decor" package, s/c A84, from Chrysler Canada, LTD. This econo 300 package contains only the 300 ornamentation, not the performance equipment of the A74 cars. A distinctive feature of the A84 package is that Chianti Red, not just Spinnaker White, was available as an exterior color. Seven hundred fifty-six A84 cars were assembled - 749 white ones and only 7 red ones."

It would incredibly interesting to see the factory documentation that shows a breakdown by option code AND color.

From reading what I previously posted I would assume the only other color you could get was Chianti red and the only way to get that color was ordering package A84. Oher than that you got yours in Spinnaker White.

I'm not familiar with the 79 Options and Accessories reports but in prior years, you cannot cross reference two separate options and come up with a number. I've not seen the factory issue numbers for an option package and color. It's just not done or possible to calculate in earlier years.
