New hood

I second the Jigsaw, much better control. My buddy, who's a home builder did mine, so I didn't have to sweat it!

PS, this is a steel hood.

My old steel hood with scoop was starting to separate. The 15 inch wheel cover gave me an inch of clearance. Now all fiberglass. Hopefully around 50lbs lighter.

Last time at the track guys told to me to take off air cleaner same results. 11.485 to 11.497 . Hopefully Milan is a go and Twisted. I like it Malex might get a taller air cleaner gained a little head room

To be honest I'd like to see it a little larger opening around the air filter. That way if you want to run an air pan with the filter there is a flow path to the sides of the filter. This weekend I ran an A-B-A test. Ran with air pan [email protected], removed air pan [email protected], reinstalled air pan [email protected]. If a filter was made to fit I'd try one as well. Looks great by the way.

I’ve always thought an easier method may be to mount a straight flat air filter within the mouth of the scoop, and simply seal the pan to the hood. That way as soon as you open the hood: full access to the carb. Doesn’t look like anyone does it that way, though. Thoughts?

My hood and pin setup on my old Coronet. It was a hinged hood. The rear pins were dummies for looks only. I made a simple air dam around the rear of the carb which directed air into the carb after it entered the scoop. I liked the look of the the 4 pins in front though maybe not necessary. Hood and scoop were from Sled City.
