I won't bore you with details but some personal matters and work got me side tracked for a while (my last post was five years ago). I have been working on the Cordoba but, most of my "free time" has been on house projects and playing with gift that my son and daughter in law gave me (us): a now 3 and 1/2 year old ginger haired ball of energy named Avery. But enough about that, after all, this is a car forum.
So, here's what's been going on with the Cordoba:
1) Firm feel makes new torsion bars so those were replaced and adjusted to lower the front end about an inch
2) Rear end lowered 2 inches
3) FiTech fuel injection was installed which improved driveabilty and got the car running consistant 9 flats in the eighth mile (before Hurricane Irma put the final nail in the Lakeland drag strips coffin)
4) Upgraded the engine with Edelbrock heads, Comp Roller rockers and, Lunati hydraulic roller cam (easy and not that expensive because of the Magnum based short block). Car ran great but testing at Bradenton showed it was now slower (oops, forgot to upgrade the 2400 stall converter along with the much bigger cam swap).
5) Swapped in 3500 RPM Hughes converter just before lock down last March. Finally got a chance to take the car out and it ran "okay" but not well. Started trouble shooting and found a series of unrelated failures (ignition module, timing chain and, fuel pump). Car is now running great and I'm planning to hit the track next month.
That's all for now, I've got a few things in the works but will follow up with those later.
