Tips for 'restoring' old lacquer paint?

If you do some research you will find it is a very different compound and really designed for older paint styles. My Charger is 40 year old lacquer. Meguirs #2, followed by #7 (as suggested), with longer soak time, brings it back and keeps it looking good.

I'll have to try that for maintaining the finish. I seem to have found a happy compound combination - I'm VERY pleased with the way things are turning out now that I have the 110 and 210!

Now I just need to find a source for less-expensive bonnets for my orbital sander...
 
One more shot, in daylight when I got home from work.

Did I mention I'm thrilled?
