Anyone here bought from Ray Barton? Curious to your experience.

Not for many many years now,
back in the 90's I bought some ported alum. heads
& rockers/stands, for my Milodon Hemi
had some others repaired by them too
everything then was top notch stuff

great experiences, quality products

I talked to the same guy on the phone every time I called
you could say he got to know my combo
not sure 'who's doing it today'

back then it was competitively priced too
early MoPar Performance or Old Direct Connection stuff
was like hens' teeth back then too
haven't bought much from them since

from back then I'd say they were great
a lot of 'Factory Stock Showdown' Mustang, Camaro & Challenger guys
use their stuff today, albeit not the old-style gen 2 hemi stuff
that says something about reputation & quality still today

Them being in Penn. was my really only issue
me being on the west coast, shipping wasn't cheap

I was used to dealing with
BAE, KB (RIP Keith Black), JP1/Venolia/Childs & Albert (RIP Joe Pisano),
Ed Pink (RIP), Ed Mondelo (RIP), Paul Phaff, I'm forgetting someone,
pretty much the whole long beach gang of race engine builder & parts guys

I dealt with Ray personally every time and he is a great guy to deal with.He knows hemis inside and out and knows what works and what don’t

Yes, Ray is straight to the point and no BS. Kinda guy I like to deal with!

A truly legendary name, right there - with good reason.

Got a 540 Hemi, KB block, Edelbrock heads, Molnar crank and rods from Ray last year, a great engine. Dealt with Ray all the way through it. The only down side was the wait to get the block. Ray and the people that work for him are talented, have the equipment and are great to deal with. Most of what they build these days are the COPO engines, Ray said getting parts for Mopars has always been a challenge.

Bought a hemi cam from him a few months back. Got send a 440 can instead so I called his team up, made the exchange. No problems, was happy and it was an easy fix.

Ok, thanks guys. Just trying to figure who to deal with on Hemi parts, Ray or Tim@FHO.

I have dealt with them many times. I run their RBRE Rocker System. Pricey but excellent. I improved my build several years ago with a bigger better camshaft which changed my valvetrain geometry and pushrod lengths. They sent me their pedestal shim kits and no charge to correct the geometry issue. They tell me mine are from one of the first batches they ever made by the blue anodizing and still going strong since 2005ish.

Your combo looks simular to what i want to do. What tunnel ram and cam?

Planned on the stage v rockers. Are they no good? Barton's better?

When I built mine, Stage V was on back order. Shelled out a little extra for the Barton to get it done. I haven’t read anything bad about either.

+4 on the Barton’s! Nothing wrong with stage v either. I think when I priced everything out the Barton’s were not a whole lot more so that’s what I rolled with. If you use Vic JR T&D has a specific rocker for that head they sell.. I didn’t know that when I bought the Barton’s.

I also got a buddy who has a 10 sec 472 he ran the snot out of on the street that had Barton’s. Engine was always trouble free. Made me a believer.

I didn’t go with Ray’s rockers simply because of the price. The Stage v rockers are half the price
and for my build they are more than adequate.

The Barton rocker system is a little more money. Probably plus and minuses with either one. I like the fact you take individual rockers off easily. So far they have been a snap to set with no loosening or tightening issues.
