While meandering the Jefferson Car Show and Swap meet today we came across the owner of the car . He said he moved the whole driveline forward perhaps 12”-15”

Idk, 12 to 15" doesn't seem possible in that car. He still has a radiator and no way that would fit if the engine was moved ahead a foot. Maybe he meant 2"?

He likely meant suspension since it is an Altered Wheelbase Car.

No , he was quite clear about 12” or . He said it in fashion years back as a way of moving weight forward during launching

Pardon my opinion as this car is beautiful and probably fast to suit, but I would argue the title of Baddest mopar ever to go to Doug's (DVW) '64 Plymouth. A true work of art and delivers the mail without delay. Just my opinion.

Any chance you could provide us poor unknowing folks with the link ? I have realized that there is always somebody faster / richer /smarter or funnier the older I get

I went to the meet Friday with a buddy, spent 5 hours there, lots of people and seems that more are using shopping scooters to get around (we're all getting older). After I hiked a 1/4 mile back to my truck carrying a band saw I bought...coulda used one of those...

he went 8.20's somewhere too, it's not an official record

SS/A 8.56 @ 155 Ray Paquet

I'm not 100% sure his record was legal trim & weight
but Ray Baton Racing Engines
2015 he went 8.22 @ 160+ (IIRC) in a 68 Dart SS/HA 3200#
IIRC it's only 438cid

8.44 @ 156 (IIRC) Indy Hemi shootout 2017

another 'real' badass SS/AH went 8.30 @ 155+ Mark Howes
only 438cid (426, 0.060 over)

I don't like the wheels on this car
or the brakes looking like saw blades
but it's pretty damn badass too
69 RR with a N/A 6bbl Hemi
'Roadkill' Pro-touring type car

I'm sure it can run a decent # if it was set up properly too
