Nasty NASCAR crash

I thought it might have said 404.

NA$CAR is dead to me, and has been for 15 years or more. Greed became the norm, prices went way up, and attendance plummeted. Plus, the goofy TV announcers! STFU and let us hear the race, not your useless commentary! And the sport is far worse off with the race-baiter Bubba in it.

I have to say, I do watch Daytona. That's it.

I'll go to one off the three local tracks when I need a fix of roundy-round fun! The local guys need and deserve support, as do the small tracks.

If I never hear “the number ** car” again it’ll be too soon. The hillbilly racing era is over and gone. Most boring thing on TV next to baseball.

Not into NASCAR, but the revived dirt races are fun to watch!

I watch motorsport racing with cars I can go into the showroom on Monday to buy. ( Translate = 0 )

THIS was a crash - 1971 Maynard Troyer. We used to watch him run at the local short ashpalt track when I was a kid.

Baseball is, although, close behind.

Y'all are just haters lol

Wow, rolled 18 times! I assume he was ok? Must of rung his bell pretty good at least.....
I remember when Petty had one last bad crash and his wife asked in in the care center 'are we still having fun' lol. She was pissed!

Always something big at Talladega
yeah
Lagano went for an e-ticket ride on that one
amazing how safe they are, even after getting airborn
upside down them ground effects, all work like a wing to lift it
he did eventually landed back on his right side up too

I don't watch much anymore just usually the last 10-15 laps

Daytona's with a 305cid 5 ltr Hemi, Dick Brooks-Rossi finished 7th
back in 1971 with a 5ltr destrocked Hemi

The super speedways and the short tracks I like but Bristol isn't nearly as entertaining as it once was before the reconfig. I'm still not too sure I liked the dirt race there.....but the TV is usually tuned in while I'm out in the shop even though I'm not paying as much attention to it like I used to. Heck, I'll even watch go cart racing if they are putting on a decent show.

404ci Hemi's were in a ton of nascars because they could rev higher and rules let you take 200lbs more out of the car!

There is no such thing as a "na$car". NA$CAR is the acronym for the sanctioning body. You wouldn't call a car in the ARCA series an arca, would ya? (I know, ARCA is run by na$car)
Na$car is responsible for these big wrecks due to their aero rules and restrictor plates (I know, they call em reducers now to get away from the stigma but they do the same thing). They could use smaller throttle bodies and do the same thing.

hey , why doesn't somebody start a stock car race, you know you go down buy a car, give it some of your own modifications change the tires and go qualify,

Nope. Destroked 340. Hemi wasnt legal in a wing car after '70.

Sounds even dumber to say 'na$car' car.....

allegedly KB built destroked 340's from the Trans-Am series too
Agree! I think that is where the nascar 305 came from, the previous year trans-am series. 1970 was a poor year for mopars in the trans-am, and they dropped out for 71. Im guessing there were some left-over T/A motors laying around, to go in left-over wing cars.

I quit being interested in Nascrap when Toyota was allowed to join in.... "National Association of AMERICAN, STOCK car racing..... Toyotas aren't, and never were American (even those that may be "assembled" here) and no matter the brand, none are anywhere close to "stock".
