Hi! My heater core is leaking and i want to repair or replace it with a new one. Does anyone have the workshop manual and could send me the pages of how to remove and install the heater core? Would be much appreciated.

I would check the heater valve first and see if that is your leak. It is on the left end and can be replaced without removing the heater box.

Agree - was going to say same as I had this issue in my '63 Plymouth. There's an O-ring that gave me fits after rebuilding the valve. The leak was outside the box.

From the Plymouth manual, would think it should be similar for Dodge.

Definitely consider the advice above and skip to step 14 unless you’re planning to do additional work on gaskets and infestations.

pretty easy job just a pain as its all on your back
drain cooling system
remove fresh air vent and blower
remove the 2 coolant lines
then there is 3-4 guys on the motor side of the fire wall to remove and unit will come right out
carid has the heater core i think i paid around $100 for it

Mark all the vacuum lines that are removed from heater box. I would not remove the lines from the heater switch and risk breaking the it.

The repro heater cores are very close but not exact. Expect to do some mild drilling and alterations to get it to fit. Nothing to lose sleep over.

Or you can send it to Glen-Ray for a re-core and not have to worry about making anything "fit"

Thanks for all of the replys! I will check the heater valve first. Bummer that the heater core was already bypassed when i got it so i need to plumb it in again to see where it leaks. And i have no idea if its the core thats like a sieve and will drench the interior lol.

Kilrbee: I live in sweden so we dont have Glen-Ray here, but i think there are good rebuilders here too, that would definitely be an option.
