Finishing up the 71

Beautiful job! Car looks great. I am changing out my 3.91's to 3.23 this spring!

Looks great!! Is this the '71 you were trying to sell years back?

Great job! Depending whats inside the trans the 3.91 can feel a bit "short" even around town XD

After watching the movie "Lawless" about the Bondarant Brothers running their shine war, had to read the book, loved it. Just part of our culture . Love your vision of your 71, my 73 is coming along very similar. I swore I would not have a black car AGIAN, but this one is going to stay black. Going to start with a 3.23 that is in the car but will then put in a 3.91 I have ....just want to waste some old tires a bit......excellent restore my friend.....

Gotta have the proper mats!!! LOOKS GREAT!!

Great job! She looks fantastic. What rim width and offset is that. I went with 245/60R15s all the way around and wish the rears were a little wider and taller on my ‘73 RR.

These are 15” x8” 4.5 backspace. Wish I went 245 on the front.

Nice job !! I am doing the same thing, although it has taken 3.5 years....so far. Just got plates and temp inspection sticker. Now just fiddling with some carb stuff before I take it " on the road". After that it is doing the interior and paint. I hope my results are as good as yours !

I went for a ride and loved it. My first time in a 440/4 speed 3.91 combo. Felt great! I added new outer window felts yesterday. Exhaust will be Wednesday. Still have to play with the timing and carb tuning some. I’m just going to drive it like l own it. Gonna be a good summer!

That is my idea, just a good running stock 440 those gears and a 4 banger!!! If that ain't fun, nothing is!
Now for me to just find a decent running stock 440 IN Tx or La that does not cost an arm and a leg! I got the 4 speed!

Kid back in SW Ga graduated a year or two ahead of me (1966). He ran shine to Atlanta in a 65 Impala, had a 427 and 4 speed. That trunk was big.
The reason the broiler business started in N Ga was to replace the shine business.

I’ve always been curious about that business. What was a typical route? Mostly north? Did they use Mopars?
Dad ran mopars, my uncle ran Chevy . We were a dry county until the late 90s. Most of my family died from gun shots.
