hey guys,
I just got a fiberglass hood for my 1973 dodge charger. I know I need low-tension springs but I don't know where to buy them. If anybody knows how to do this please let me know :)
I have the hinges.

How low of tension do they need to be? Could you just heat up the stock springs give them a slight tug and try ? Or find a slap wore out set ?

Google Century spring C-273. You can do a search on this site as well. I'm in the middle of installing a Stinger 6 pak hood on the Coronet and used these springs.

I used a prop rod for mine without any springs. It works fine, another option.

I have Harwood medium tension springs on my car with the fiberglass shaker (street weight, not race weight).
Part #'s are:
HAR200 light tension
HAR210 med tension
HAR215 high tension

Went to a hardware store and bought 3 different pair. I started with the lightest pair and they worked so took the others back. I measured the stretch of the originals (not easy to close the hinge so be careful) and that gave me an idea of what to get.

And this is more of a technical post than a classified ad so I move it.....
