Hi, I'm currently running 215/60Rr15 on my 67 Belvedere...
I have my eyes on a set of 4 215/70R15 and I'm wondering if they would fit without any modifications to the stock suspension or body.

Thank you ...any idea what's the biggest that I could put in the rear ?
With the stock 15's?

Wheel offset and width are a factor. Had L60 on 7 x 15" rims 4" offset polished inside of quarter. 4.25 or 4.5" offset on rubbing. Think L60 = 255's?

I have the same car, been researching same tire/ wheel combos. From the tire/wheel forum on this site it looks like 270/60/15 is the biggest tire that will fit without modifications.

255/70-15's, 8" rims, on my '63 330 Sedan, plenty of room...

The 215/60-15 has a load capacity just 1 size bigger than a VW bug. Just FYI The 215/70-15 is 2" taller in total diameter so just 1" taller when mounted. A much better/safer size. If the tires you are looking at are used, beware of their age and any possible inner liner damage. DOT codes give the week and year of MFG. Outside stored tires should be less than 5 years old. Tires kept garaged maybe 2 more years. Check for any cracking.

I am aware of the DOT ( they were manufactured last year) and they are brand new.
But those are great factors to look into when buying used.
