Inner Wheel House Flange

Hello all, any chance someone can post some pics of the flange located at the bottom of the inner wheel house, the piece that attaches to the rocker and outer wheel house, for a 1971 RR? Mine are toast and I have to fabricate patches for them. I have no idea what they’re supposed Tom look like. I need both left and right. Thanks in advance!

I can get you pics later tonight when I get home from work, about 5 hrs.
The inner wheelhouses on both sides have a flange that the outher wheelhouse welds up against(the outers have a flange as well). The ends of the rockers have flanges as well from the top, side & bottom. Thats what the flanges all weld to on the wheelhouses. I may be spinning your head around as its easier to see than explain. Will get you some pics tonight
 
The lip of the inner wheelhouse is on top of the lip on the outer WH. This is my passenger side. It is finished so its hard to see... Drivers side is the same. I had to peel back the lip on the inner to get the outer apart. I heated the flap that I peeled back on the inner and massaged it back over the outer & welded it up completely so there wouldn't be an opportunity for moisture to sit betweek the 2 panels. It may not be correct, but I'm confident in the repair...

Hi again John, Any chance you can get a better shot of the area circled in red? This is the area I have to make a patch for. I'm trying to see how much the inner wheelhouse tab goes over the outer wheelhouse and how high it goes. Thanks again!

Chad, the flap in the pic you have extends over the outer wheelhouse and follows the seams where the 2 WH's are welded. When it gets to that area, the outer WH has a lip that tucks behing the inner WH. The outer WH doesn't shoot straight down. It simply has a lip about 3/4" behind that lip on the inner WH in your pic. If you ran a straight edge down the seam, the lip lines up from the inner WH.
I welded mine solid all the way around that lip & smoothed it out. I know it isnt correct....but neither is half the Chinese steel that this car has in it now! I took a pic of a new passenger outer AMD WH to show you how much of the lip(on the outer) is hidden behind the lip(on the inner) on the WH in your pic.

Realistically, I would wrap things up on the rocker & get the outer welded into the inner and fab what you need then. That way all your overlaps & seams will be primed....thats another reason I did mine the way I did.
Also, I'm following along on your thread on the rocker repair. The rear of the rockers are "capped" from the WH's. There are lips or flanges for the WH's to weld to on the factory rockers. The inner rocker flange is a lot stouter than the 2 flanges on the outer rocker also BTW.
Keep movin'. You've gota good pace so stay with it & dont loose steam.
