Headrest Chrome Issue

I cleaned up my headrests and bought new chrome strips for them but they’re not sticking. The headrests were cleaned then given 5-6 coats of SEM Trim Black and turned out beautiful.
Are there different qualities of chrome strip? I got mine of EBay for $22 but I see places like Classic and PG sell for $40-48.

My passenger side started to come off. What helped was changing the last 2" of double sided tape with an industrial strength one. Then I put a small drop of hot glue just a the ends and once on the headrest I cable tied it for a week. It stuck good now.
 
One of the big things is to get it to fit. You might have to use a heat gun to get it to fit tight. Get it fitting and the spring out of it and it will be easier to glue down.

i used the ones from classic ind. i was amazed how well they stuck when put on.
 
Hi

Can you tell me the material they are made of? Is it aluminium? It can not be real chrome plated because it would broke if you bend it.

Chinese plastic.
 
Its a plastic with a mirror like film on it, strong adhesive on the other side

Just google flexible plastic chrome. Depending on the materials composition there are several ways to do this.
