One of my bucket list cars.

Been cranking away at the new girl in the collection - my '69 D300 cab and chassis. It's a 318 truck with NP435 4-speed and 4.10:1 Dana 70. Troubleshooting the electrical. Initially, I had no juice to any of the lights anywhere on the truck. Had instruments (no oil pressure showing), radio, heater fan, and wipers, though. After removing the bulkhead connectors and cleaning those with contact cleaner, I've got hi and lo beams, and turn signals...plus the oil gauge actually DOES work, with a 60 psi reading at cold idle! Now, I still don't have clearance lights, dome light, instrument lights, or horn. I'll pull the headlight switch and clean it, too, with contact cleaner. I'll fart around with the bulkhead connectors again tonight, if the headlight switch turns out to not be the issue. I'm pretty sure the solution lies in either spot. The original wiring on this is amazingly unmolested.

The 440 and automatic still needs freed from the '75 Imperial it's in. The roller is supposed to go to Nebraska soon.

Not my b-body, but...

My 90 Voyager turbo blew its headgasket Friday. 125k miles...um..."non-stock" boost levels...I figure it earned a new gasket. Drove it into the shop today around 3...

2 hours later...

Bores look good, aside from the coolant...

Head to a jobsite, get batteries for the dewalt so I can roloc the gasket surfaces, and 3 hours later...

Filled everything and heat-cycled it, leak checked, all good. Road test tomorrow.

Not bad for an old fart. 5 hours, no lift, hand tools. Used to be able to do them faster...but I used to be younger, too! And, I haven't done one in...jeez...11 years?

Time for Tylenol.

Time for Tylenol.
Just a suggestion, from a guy who suffers from serious aches and pains. If you don't have any stomach problems, or bleeding issues, or have been told not to take it, ibuprofen is far more effective for muscle aches. Naprosyn also, same cautions.

Appreciate it, but ibuprofen is a no-no with eliquis (blood thinners). Believe me, I've got plenty of it in the cabinet, but can't touch for another 2 months (heart surgery 2 weeks ago, thinners for 90 days)

Also, there is a lifetime limit on the amount of acetaminophen (tylenol) that you are supposed to be able to safely handle.

Dug out my other toy today: my one-owner 1991 Daytona C/S turbo 5 speed, one-of-150 AGS Competition Package cars, one-of-26 in white with Bordeaux (maroon) interior. Bought it brand new in 1991 from Templeton Dodge, Tysons Corner, VA.

My first car, parked next to my mom's first car (sorta; hers was totaled in '75 but this is damn near a match). Both are survivors, not restored. The Daytona has 74k on it and still has the factory clutch.

replaced the spark plugs

please don’t judge my old plugs. i might have actually been driving on a 440cu v7 by the looks of one plug.

i tossed in some NGK Iridium just cause Dennis H uses NGK’s in everything he owns.

Put on a new distributor cap & rotor, checked the air gap (good), washed/dried/vacuumed it and went for a couple of drives.
Of course the county was cutting brush and sweeping causing quite the dust storm to drive through.

It was worse down the road a ways but didn't dampen my spirits!
The car is running great now and tomorrow goes in for the Silver Sport swap 15 months after the transmission arrived. That was a rather gruelling year and we are already off to another with a red flag warning (Fri-Tues).

I looked at my '66 Coronet 500 once again, and then proceeded to my '69 Dodge D300 project. Painted the visible portions of the frame satin black. Started my seat project, consisting of making two Mexican blankets my new seat cover. Power-washed the engine bay and the front portion of the frame; came out half-way decent! Got everything I need for my gas tank installation.

Still in search of a 8' to 9' dually-width flatbed for the truck.

Dropped it off at "The Shop".
I feel as if I have abandoned it.

My kidney function a bit out of wack, not supposed to take ibuprofen either.
