Some changes for LemonWedge

LW, I've lost track of your current motor combination. The Lupo 9 1/2" should be great for a fairly heavy car. Power is in the heads and camshaft combination. I kept porting my iron 906 & 915 heads and got more performance, combined with good cams. My best cam is still an antique mushroom cam. 6.35/645 lift & 276/[email protected]. As good as the Comp .660/280 roller. Combination of heads and camshafts is a key if you have the good torque converter. Keep going!

Heads are MCH-ported and prepped Stealths. a while back I went to 1.6 rockers and saw a definite measurable increase in performance. This told me that perhaps my cam was now the weak link in the combo. It’s a solid flat tappet; only 252* @ .050, square pattern on a 109 cl. Lift with the 1.6’s is .610 (.592 after lash).
Looking at Dwaynes slide rule above, it looks like I’m getting just about what can be hoped for out of 119mph power, which makes me feel good about the work I’ve done with the car over the past few years. After all the time and $$$ I’ve sunk into this thing this year, there’s probably no more big changes coming anytime soon. 10’s would be cool, but I’m ok with where it’s at for a while. I think it’s a damn competitive bracket car, and I’m feeling pretty good about my abilities behind the wheel these days, so I’ll most likely just focus on trying to win some races for a while.

I guess the cam may be a little small, but sure in the range for 10.90's. As a bracket racer the main thing is a consistent car. Then the driver wins or loses the race. I spent years working to get my '65 Coronet to be consistent. It did the job and I won many events. A little less weight in the car puts you in the 10's.

Wallace has an "ideal" calculator on his site, supposed to be the best that can be expected from a given number. It says your 11.10 pass would have a 119.3, your 119.9 could be as good as 11.05, so, in my opinion, you are right there! Looks like it needs maybe just a little more power, or a little less weight for 10s.
Are you 7.0s at around 97 in the eighth?

I have nothing to add, but I just have to say I love this car. I love the way it looks and you've got it booking pretty good too. I think it's the Satellite trim, wheels and no scoop that make it look soooo good!

Why yes, I am! 7.01 @ 96.58 on this slip. I’m pretty sure it’s touched 97 in the 1/8 in the past. I could be wrong though.
That’s a Hellcat Challenger in the Right lane, by the way. Arent they supposed to be stouter than that?

Thanks! It’s not your typical hotrod, that’s for sure. Even in a group of Mopars, this ones a little off the beaten path.

Wallace ideal says your 7.01 1/8, should go......

11.11 at 119 and change. Pretty close to ideal if you ask me! Congrats!

And we have some hellcats faster than that.... and some slower. Like any car, depends on the driver, and the tuner.
We've got a local guy (a real life homer simpson, but a smart nuclear engineer) who's had two cars on the cover of mopar muscle. His hellcat was good for mid 6s eighth, sold it, now has a single seat Demon. Its faster.

Ah the quest for the next lower ET. I know it well. But foremost as a racer is the win slip.
