Forget about ordering a 2021 RAM

That sounds about right. Every line has its final build out and once you hit that day your on to the next year. Been that way as long as I can remember.

When I wanted to order my 2017 Powerwagon in May of 2017 couldn’t do it. So I waited until July 2017 and purchased one in stock

I've got a 3500 on a cargo ship at this moment. Placed the order end of February. So going to be what I was told, 10 weeks. I think I'll have it next week because it's been in transit a least a week and coming to Baltimore port.

Where the heck do they build them that they're on a cargo ship??????
What happens to all of the 2021's that are still waiting for chips???
I'm Cornfused!

They would not have stock piled vehicles without chips? They would have shut the lines down rather then building cars and trucks without chips.

I just saw a story about Ford with their F150 inventory built, waiting for chips. Oh well!

I guess Dodge isn't building much then... Ford is pushing the F150's off the line and installing computers in the yard. So they're "pre-pushed"! I always get the "current" years truck in October.. the year before! Ie I would have bought a '21 back in October of '20...

My local Ford salesman told me last week that they have no inventory coming in until October.

You should try Aaron at Mark Dodge in Lake Charles. My son ordered a 2021 truck last week over the phone (we are in Houston). Discounted almost 12% from MSRP and what ever incentives are in place at the time of delivery. I called about an hour ago to order a 2021 and like you was told they are going to start 2022 production early and are taking orders but dealers have no pricing yet and are expecting a $1500 - $1800 base price increase. I am going to wait until July and see if I can make a deal on a in stock 2021 at the end of the season. Discounts are usually better. In February Texas dealers were heavily discounting trucks but that went away the first of March. I am hoping they will come back. Sign up to get news and deals on Ram's website. They sometimes send personal discounts. Got one earlier this week for an additional 1K off any Ram, good till end of June.

Depends what you want I guess. Around here there pretty much is no stock on 2500 and 3500s.

I am looking for a 2500 4x4 Cummins Limited Longhorn standard bed and it has been tough to find.

They are built in Santillo, Mexico. The Heavy Duty anyway.

You are not going to find one and if by some chance you do there will be no deals. There is no inventory and the demand negates any deals.

Chips. I bought a 4 wheeler built in Japan waited 4 months and it hasn’t shown, Got lucky and bought a grand Cherokee that got one .... of the few that got a chip. Phoenix dealers had few grand cherokees because of the chip problem. Got this one right off the truck

Until they come back out with reg cab or cab and 1/2 with a real 8 ft bed in something other than white I guess it won't matter how long it takes to get a new one, I ain't buying.
On that note I'm redoing my 85 d150 and looking at a real clean 91 or 92 Dakota with the 318 debating whether to go get.
NOT at all interested in 4 doors and a 5'3" bed.
Can't sleep in a bed that short if my tent gets swamped while camping
