Who has a fast street car?

Not a Mopar but my commuter car is pretty fast. 2007 Shelby gt500. Probably around 600hp with all the mods. Runs mid 10's.I guess not very fast compared to some of the posts. But damn its a fun car to drive even though a ford.

Use Hughes Cryo Rockers
Hey Mike Gaines
I "just discovered" their CNC aluminum rockers, and I LIKE them.
I did a search and found your post and at least one other, but apparently I had forgotten about them.
Anyone have any BAD experiences with Hughes CNC aluminum rockers?
Also, even though they say they're good as is to about 600 pound spring pressure, I'll probably get them cryo treated, unless that somehow causes something else to wear out, but I can't imagine it wearing out the shaft.

Too many optional power adders out there. Back in the day? A blown car would heat up too fast for any street life. My 10 sec N/A Duster can run ok on the street. But can get into trouble faster than one can say. "I shouldn't have done that?" Its the spool in the rearend. If you respect and take corners very gently? You're OK. If not? Then the ditch is your new hangout.

92 Octane 14psi short pull to 5500 trying to work out the tune. 900whp. Should go 8’s on pump gas.

Hemirunner, did you by any chance dyno the motor before you put it in the car? (I know you plumbed the turbos in the car to make sure of the fit).
Im curious how much power is absorbed by the drivetrain with an engine this powerful.

I'll raise you on pure size. 1200 HP (engine dyno pull. Not whp.) N/A on pump 91. 904 ci DOHC Schubeck marine V8. In a Pro Street Cuda build.

It would be fun someday having these guys on the line?

Waiting for my tri-motor Cyber Truck :poke:
Well, there is always the Triplex!
(Three engine land speed record car. 5000+ cu in. Scared the crap out of the regular driver, killed his replacment, but was fastest car on earth, for a while)

I assume that the layout of the twin turbos is efficient and highly functional, but I KNOW FOR A FACT that the appearance of their placement is, well...

Yeah. But no gearbox? Needing to push start? Hardly street. And WAY too much weight. But does go to show? "Crazy" is not a generation thing?

I did not dyno the engine prior to going in the car. We’ve yet to put any real boost or rpm to it so I’m expecting a significant gain once we get it on race fuel.

Thanks. These turbos are quite small for the cubic inches. It’ll never be efficient but it should still make great power. Can’t wait to have it out this year.

I guess what I mean is your turbos plumbing is laid out so as to not be "loss-y" by its design? Small turbos when you have 2 of them, so beautifully symmetrical, and I assume meeting your anticipated power goals? are a GREAT choice, spooling up faster than a single larger turbo, and providing good power at the push of the loud pedal.
Anyway, from the first time I saw "pix of the Twins" and your car overall, I have always been impressed and probably the only idea that had me think-for a moment-about "Well who says I must have a 6bbl?" LOL, but that passed and I'm back to displacement and my 6bbl as my "route to power" with an option for some nitrous...

The main goal of the piping was to get the air from the turbos to the intake without butchering the car and allow me to run a stock style radiator, mechanical pump and clutch fan and AC. I also wanted to retain the stock front bumper. I succeeded in hitting all the goals. I didn’t have room for an intercooler but the water meth will get it done.

Mechanical water pump I assume, NOT fuel pump?
Is that a CVF Wraptor I see??
Now I'm feeling VERY incompetent.... My CVF Wraptor serpentine belt system, that added AC and power steering, got me to a place where I never thought I'd have room for anything but the low profile flex fan I have. I did buy a new factory fan shroud, (because I sold mine and my 26" radiator and flex fan) and I got a Cold Case aluminum radiator back when the Wraptor was being installed. The big hangup with that plan was that damn 18" two speed electric fan, that smoked its motor 3 times!
Looks great!

Mechanical water pump as well. Oiling system is mechanical dry sump pump that bolts on like the factory pump. We modified it to accept a drive cable that also runs a mechanical fuel pump for quiet, high volume operation. I made the oil tank so that it would fit under the left front fender. Yes, that’s a CVF Wraptor. It really tucked the AC in well.

Not sure it's fast but it has a full interior and is all steel. Even has battery up front! I have no problems getting in and driving it 45 miles to a neighboring town to their cruise night. Pump gas, quiet mufflers and drives nice.

I used to think 10's in a street car was fast but now I see all kinds of guys with stout turbo'd late model stuff that easily runs 9's.

I've been 10.40 @ 130 and 6.48 @ 105. See no need to go faster than 10's with the safety requirements at that level.

Should update.

Went 10.01 @ 133 end of last season. Trying really hard for a 9 but the stars haven't aligned yet this season.
