I have a set of 440 source (new) they are going into my stroker build.

what’s the trick to getting the cap off the bottom end of the rod?

They are NOT being cooperative and I don’t want to damage them.

Thanks

They are held by tubular dowels... I have a pair of big external snap ring pliers I slip pieces of hose over the jaws & use them...

Light taps with a rubber hammer on the corner near the bolt should pop them loose. I assume you are removing them and they are still attached to the crank.

Dead blow mallet did the trick.

Thank you

Put the cap in a vise with softeners on the jaws and rock back & forth while pulling.
