Life happens... did I say that life happens?

Like they say on Roadkill, "get it running, not perfect" and I have had enough of life's interruptions keeping my RR sequestered in the corner of the garage on a permanent time out.

I'm starting small and with luck, I will at least get the motor turning and burning this summer. Simple enough right? An hour here, thirty minutes there is all I ever seem to have, but at least I have begun the process of CPR on my long dormant 383 and beloved Road Runner.

And to think, it all began when I met Ronnie Sox in 1968 at the Chicago Amphitheater for the Chicago Rod and Custom show and got an autographed copy of their Road Runner that year. I have loved the lines of the Road Runner ever since.

Thanks for having me...

Tom

Welcome road runner fan! Sounds good, slow and steady will get you there.

yep 30 minutes here and there is better than not at all and will get it done.

Welcome and love the story thanks for sharing!! we need more motivational stories like that. :)

I mangled the quote, but it was close enough. Here is the exact quote from Freiburger. Either way, they are words to live by.

As Freiburger always says, "Don't get it right, just get it running," then get out there and drive. Freiburger is happy to follow his own advice...

Welcome from Michigan, the Motor City! I've worked on different car projects for damn near 40 years! Keeps me thinking, researching, and gives me plenty to do. I really wouldn't have it any other way. Good luck and keep after it! 440'

welcome to FBBO

You can build something like this and restore it later. Kinda wish I just did the drivetrain on my charger first instead of gutting the whole car to a shell.

Pretty much unchanged from this picture taken circa 1982. Just dirtier, a little rustier and sitting on four junk tires for storage.
