I went back to the track last Saturday for the San Diego Antique Drags at Barona 1/8 mile. It was my first time back to the track since February 2020. My car sat for most of last year except for a few drives around the block to keep the fluids moving.

I ran a new best ET of 7.56, new best 60 foot of 1.65 and a new best MPH of 90 mph. Made the 50 mile drive to the track, uncorked the cutoffs, aired down the drag radials and made five passes, then drove home with no issues. Never even had to open the hood all day. It was great being back at the track.

Sounds like a great day at the track for you! Congratulations, you didn't break anything! 440'

Good for you! I'm close to being ready with mine after 31 years. Dont believe I'll be able to match your results.

sounds like a good day

as long as you had fun
it's all good

congrats on the new low ET 7.56 1/8th mile
appr. 11.86 corrected 1/4 mile, not too shabby

best part is everything still good, drove it there & back

Congrats on a new best. A lot to be said for a convenient trip to the track running that quick. Trailers, trucks, and maintenance take up a ton of cash and time. I thought about this yesterday while reinstalling my push button trans with a shield and repaired oil pan and diaper from wheelie damage. There are times when I would like to just drive to the track and back.

My 17 year-old son who rode with me to the track yesterday keeps asking me if I'm ever going to make it fast enough to where I have to trailer it the track. I keep telling him I like doing it this way.

I told my son on the drive home I want to keep working to make the car nicer to drive on the street and at the same time keep working to make it faster. Usually the two don't go together so that makes it a fun challenge.
