Hey everyone,
I have a J440T stamped engine. Its a 1973 industrial from a RV I was told. It's in my 65 Satellite that was an original 361 car. the driver side mount is WAY off. The passenger side mount is close but still does not look right.
Is there a specific year or model for motor mount brackets that I can order? I have read about using 67 Charger brackets, 74 truck brackets, etc... What is correct for my needs?

Engine ID.

Passenger side, Better but still no...

Wait a second... Now that I see the pictures again, Is the driver side mount flipped around backwards maybe? Wait, Maybe not. I don't think the holes would line up the other way.

Looks like the engine is too far back. Got the right tranny crossmember? Not going to take pictures right now but if you’re still stuck tomorrow I can take some of my ‘64. Shouldn’t matter what year engine either.

It does seem far back but the cooling fan is only about 1/2" away from the radiator.

What if I moved the brackets forward to the front side of the ears on the block so that they are lined up on top of the mounts? Then drill a new hole in the bracket for the stud on the mount to come through?

65's are a 1 year only special mount on driver's side that attaches to bosses up front and hooks around, right? Or is that C body only?

The mounts will only bolt to the engine one way, the ears won't fit right to the block if you have them on wrong.

'65's are a bit unique. Pretty sure the mount brackets are different compared to the '64 or '66. I had original brackets on my '65 Coronet and eventually made solid biscuits out of tube (drag car). If I recall the trans mount was also unique.

So if I get some 65 brackets they will bolt up correctly? I could weld some up my self out of plate steel I guess.

That late model truck block should have the bosses on it for that mount yes

Do some more investigation. I'm not sure which brackets may work. But '65 was an in between year for B bodies. Pretty sure the '65 K member was a one year deal. So the motor mounts & brackets may also be. The motor position is different than the later years. Pretty sure different from '64.
Others on here may have much more direct info.

Had a 65 sat ., It had a 361 in it , pull it out put a 440 in it no problems , same motor mounts . 1963-65 B Bodies , big blocks (non- hemi ) use motor mount brackets , right was part # 2268220 , left 2268216 . C- Bodies same right as b - bodies different left which is part # 2465862 . You can find them on E-Bay , pricey . More info on 440 source sight , motor mount brackets .

63-65 b body engine mounts the same. The C body used a different mount. 440 source has a set on Ebay for your car. Rubbers left and right are different.

So I see these 65 brackets from 440 source and they are identical to the ones I have now. Now I'm really stumped. Why are they not sitting right on the mounts?

AWW DANG MY MOUNTS ARE ROTATED AROUND BACKWARDS I THINK!!! What do you guys think? if i rotated them 180* the studs look like they would go through the bracket holes and sit perfectly together. (I didn't install them by the way:))

I think you were lucky enough to answer your own question. If it were me, I'd do it wrong the first time, then wait for someone that actually knows what they're doing to tell me how stupid I was...

LOL, Thanks. I'm going to be pulling out the engine next weekend, I will flip them around and see what happens.
