Nice "race" picks Nick

Nice picks, Nick!
Outlawd- the only reason you're behind me is you didn't pick in the first race. You'll pass me soon enough!

I have a hard time betting against my favorite drivers, that will keep me in the basement but just can't get myself to pick against them, lol.

That's how I got to where I am, too. Although, I have fewer and fewer favorite drivers. There are just some I won't pick and others I pick as a prediction. Mostly I pick ones I like (or am neutral about) - which rarely pays off.

Charlotte 4 wide

T/F Steve Torrence

F/C Ron Capps

P/S Greg Anderson

P/SM Matt Smith

Might as well get another disasterous group of picks out there now.

Here's your 'Tuesday before the event' reminder for the upcoming NGK NTK NHRA Four-Wide Nationals at zMAX Dragway in Concord, NC. This is the final (thank goodness!) running of a four-wide event this season.
This Four-Wide Nationals start with one round of professional qualifying on Friday, May 14, and then two rounds of professional qualitying on Saturday.
Current forecast is calling for high temps of 68F at the start of Friday qualifying, 73F on both Saturday and Sunday with sunny conditions on Friday and Saturday and partly sunny on Sunday.
The in-and-out sun could mean some tuning questions and quick changes for the crew chiefs during Sunday's final eliminations.
The current entry list shows:
18 Top Fuel
16 Funny Car
20 Pro Stock
22 Pro Stock Motorcycle

As always, check the entry lists (NHRA National Event Entry Statistics) to make sure your driver pick is racing.

Post your picks posted and let's go racing!

EXTRA! EXTRA!
THIS JUST IN!

Nitromater.com reports the 2021 NHRA Northwest Nationals in Seattle, WA, have been cancelled due to the continued State of Washington COVID-19 restrictions.
This event has been replaced on the 2021 schedule with the Lucas Oil Winternationals at Auto Club Raceway at the Fairplex in Pomona, California, July 30-August 1.

Although it will still be called the 'Winternationals' I'm reasonably confident that you will not see a bit of snow on the mountains north of the raceway like you usually see while watching the television coverage! The average high temp for August 1 in Pomona is 91F with 45% humidity. I know 45% humidity isn't much for the midwest, east coast and southeast, but it's high for SoCal.

I'm not so sure it will be done in Pomona either
not with our Govn. & his lockdowns BS
haven't really been "completely" lifted "yet"
rural areas have, for a while now
but not densely populated areas

I hope it does go as planned too.
