A little side note not a lot of people know.
Bob was the Head Engine Builder at Petty Enterprises from 1991-1994. He also was an engine builder at Roush Racing for Mark Martin and Ted Musgrave, and also built engines at Pro Motor, including Ricky Rudd’s 1997 Brickyard 400 engine.
Prior to NASCAR, he was a drag racer, both as a driver and engine builder. He was a 2 time winner of the US Nationals and built Pro Stock engines.
