Fan Shroud and engine torque

The OP stated the fan is hitting the shroud after changing the motor mounts, if all the correct info has been given a custom shroud shouldn’t be required.

No place does the OP say the fan hit the shroud before. States it's "a little shaky" when trying to tune.

To the OP, I'm using a factory shroud w a 19" fan. The factory fan, biggest I believe, is 18". Most companies recommend 1/2" to 1" distance from blade tips to shroud. If your engine is moving more than that, definitely need different mounts. I understand under "extreme" acceleration ie drag race launch, but otherwise your engine should not move even 1/2". There was an article yrs ago about drilling and bolting the motor mounts. I'll try to find it. But if you're gonna be doing hard launches, definitely look into a torque strap.

Yes, I was thinking I should check the motor mounts but they are brand new mighty mounts.
One thing about the mighty mites mounts which I am using in my my 67 Gtx 440 , the studs in mine were long enough that they would make contact with the block and not allow the engine to sit quiet as far down as they should, so the top of my shroud was nearer the fan , so cut off about 3/8” , problem solved! And added two grade 8 bolts for insurance!
