Welcome from Michigan, the Motor City! Nice Charger you have there! 440'

Wouldn't it be sweet if it were a 340 car? If it were I would leave it be.

Welcome to the site from Pasadena......Texas that is. Used to be a Mars Tx but it dried up pretty early on. Got to over 100 in 1915 and down to 50 in 1945. Hey, China Tx isn't too far east of here :D

340- super rare.

400-4 somewhat common.

400-2 common

318- incredibly common

After deciding the fender code a bit, this car came with a 318, but I haven’t looked at the code on the block yet to see if it’s the same motor. Someone put edelbrock intake, valve covers, and a new carb on. Not sure but I THINK it might have a mild cam in it as well. When you pop the trunk it has some stickers on the lid. That’s the only indication I have that the motor might have a cam in it. What’s funny to me is, if it does have a cam in it, they put all that stuff on there but no headers?

SBM headers kind of suck unless you get the 800 dollar TTI or 600 dollar Doug's.

Adding dual exhaust and keeping the manifolds is worth 20 HP.

You know the small blocks have the numbers on the driver side front of the block just below the gasket surface, right? The stamping is usually kind of light so cleaning it good will help see it.....

Yes, it’s raining here in Texas. I have the car covered but once the rain stops sometime next week, I’ll pull the cover off and clean it up and check the numbers out

Yeah, it's raining here too but not hard.....yet. If I walk out to the street and back to the shop, I won't be soak and wet but will be a little wet. It's raining just hard enough to not want to do anything out in it! At least the wind died down long enough to grill some chicken out back behind the shop under a carport and not in a direction that it pushed any smoke into the shop or at least not much. :)

It came a damn flood here about an hour ago, it’s eased up a bit for now.
