The Carlisle 2021 thread

Should I register now or register closer to showtime?

Don't want to register and the car have problems and not be able to drive it up there, she eats spark plugs and power valves.

Carlisle is a great time - my suggestion is to register it now. At least for me, that becomes a commitment and I work through whatever issues I may have to get my car done. Otherwise it becomes to easy to just bag it and leave it sit.

Hope to see you there!

Hawk

You Are Cordially Invited for Lunch on Saturday - Details Below!

Folks, we are getting close to the Chrysler Nationals at Carlisle!

At this point, I have purchased/secured the FBBO tent. Last year, I had too many irons in the fire, so this year, I will leave my car at home and spend some more time at the tent.

Here are standard tent times for FBBO members to meet on Friday and Saturday.
  • 9AM Friday and Saturday: Get together and discuss cars, plans and perhaps help members out with any search needs (especially Friday). I will be at the tent at least 8:45 - 9:30.
  • 12 Noon Friday and Saturday: LUNCH!!! I will be there at least noon - 1PM.
    On Friday, I will have my grill there for members that want to use the grill to grill their own food. Let's meet for lunch!
    On Saturday, we can hopefully have a large get together of FBBO members. I will offer burgers and hot dogs (while supplies last *), as well as the grill for others to cook their own food if they like. I will likely also have some beverages while supplies last. Please come and meet other FBBO members and say hello!
    IF YOU WOULD LIKE BURGERS and/or HOT DOGS ON SATURDAY FOR LUNCH, PLEASE RESPOND TO THIS THREAD AND INDICATE WHAT YOU WOULD LIKE. This will help me gauge approximately how much food to buy.
  • 6PM Friday and Saturday: I will again have the grill available for people to cook their own food and hang out for dinner. Bring you own food and drink, but a grill and some condiments should be available.
* A note regarding the Saturday Lunch: I will purchase food and work to prepare lunch for FBBO members. However, it is always difficult to determine how much to bring. Of course, it is costly too; I don't want to throw out food, and I can't save what is not eaten due to limited ice/ cooler time. I will bring burgers and hot dogs based on the approximate number of responses that I get. I apologize in advance if I run out. Food will be served on a first come, first served basis. Please be respectful and try to honor your order. If you order food come, if you don't order please understand food will be limited. This can't be a free for all, as the cost for this is coming out of my pocket. I ask for nothing other than the respect and consideration for those who come, and hopefully we will have enough to enjoy ourselves and have a good time!

See you all soon!

Hawk

Still only a few registered. I have:
@FU64RY
@crash89
@69bfan

Is my cooking that bad?!? Seriously, please sign up and stop by if you can!

Hawk

@hsorman I don't wanna commit to food because I usually am chowing food down by 10:30 and running around like a nut job in 10 different directions so gonna try and swing by and say hello but don't wanna have you cook up some grub if I make it late or whatever.

I will stop by the FBBO tent at some time during the event. That is if I make the Show. Sometimes things do not go the way I plan them. :cursin:
I pre-registered for the 2021 show back at the 2020 show. So I got money in the pot.
Street Rods are coming to York (so I hear) on JUNE 4-6. So this will be a pre Carlisle test run. PS; but there is way too many marked and unmarked cop cars around every bush.

I hope to see you both! I will count you as a "half" just in case. Welcome and hope you make it!

I just sold my '69 GTX, so I won't need my space in the covered pavilion at the car corral. Sell for $100 to anyone interested. Good parking for sure, shade is well worth it.

Plan to attend. First time since 1988. 2nd owner of my 09 Challenger agreed to let me borrow it for the event. Prefer to be a participant. Driving out from Allentown. Staying Hampton Harrisburg West. They claim to have rooms available. Not cheap.

Great news Dennis!! It will be good to see you again.
Be sure to list FBBO as your club affiliation if possible and stop by the club tent.

Awesome! Hope you stop by for lunch on Saturday (at least). Barry and I will be there and ready!

Registration snafu. Got this email, but was not charged an entry fee. Called to confirm and they know nothing about this. Waiting 2 days for a call back. Best way to register?

That Hotel is pretty good at least I liked it we stayed there about 4 times for Carlisle.
Not a bad drive either if you avoid the highways to get to the fairgrounds.
You might just try the phone number they gave you.
I don't know anything about an invitational display.
Besides Hawk's lunchtime thing I don't get invited to much...

Anyone else staying at the Courtyard on Gettysburg Rd.?
