Someone Junked This 1963 Corvette Z06 Split Window (msn.com)

Pretty rare car to be sitting in there all those years... Junked in 71 and someone already modified it with 64 Dodge Tail lights... Nice to see it getting saved..

C2 is the generation I love, if I had to have a Corvette.

There was one in a carport about a mile from where I used to live. Been there so long, you couldn't tell the difference between glass and body panels there was so much dust on it. Only way to tell was the surface changes. Usual story - "nope, not gonna sell it, I'm gonna fix it up someday..." Well, one day it was just up and gone. Never did hear what happened to it.

Now there's a rare one, only a couple hundred made. That article incorrectly states that the package included "big cooled disc brakes" but in reality they were oversized finned brake drums. Nice find, I wonder how many people wandered past it in the junk yard since 1971?

Is that gas tank size correct 36.5 gallons is bigger than my truck!!

This is the only year Corvette I have ever driven. It belonged to the assistant minister at my church when I was in high school and college. 327 with the fuel injection removed. 4 speed. The car scared me to death. Unfortunately, it was stolen around 1986 and never recovered.

Yes, that was the size for the Z06 option. I imagine it would be great for long distance driving, but the weight difference between full and empty would really affect the way it handled.
