1965 Plymouth Satellite 426 Street Wedge Car in excellent condition. Restoration completed in 2020-21 included new paint (check out the deep reflections in the paint) and new interior. Drivetrain was rebuilt and new exhaust just before we purchased the car. Has virtually no miles on that rebuild. Car is a factory 426 car with, factory power steering and to make it even more rare, it was originally gold with a white vinyl top. Very few produced with that color code/combo. The car is a factory 426S Wedge, 727 Torqueflite transmission, 3.23 rear, power steering, gold/tan/fawn interior and gold exterior with a white vinyl top. See attached photo of the car record card, Chrysler Production Record decode and the fender tag and decoding.

The mid 60’s were exciting times for the Mopar line at the local drag strips. In the race for power, the Dodge Max Wedge lead the way and was followed by the advent of the Hemi. Cars like this Satellite were snatched up at the local dealer as a weekly commuter, turned S/SA drag car on Saturdays! Research by prior owner showed it selling at University Plymouth in Detroit, the sponsoring dealership for Bill Shirley’s “The Professor”. There was not enough research to determine who bought this one. Perhaps it was in “The Professors” lab, or one of the “Golden Commando” cars sponsored through Hamilton Motors of Detroit. Or it could have been the typical working person by day and knuckle busting, wrench turning, victory on Saturday dreaming person in the muscle car wars of the 1960s. Supposedly, this car was purchased and immediately fitted with a 426 Hemi, fender well headers and the traditional fast cut hood scoop. After a short time as a S/SA car the original motor and exhaust was reinstalled and it served the rest of its life as a driver like many of the one-year production to track to street muscle cars of the 60s. We did not fully repair the fender well cut-outs, nor did we repaint the underside of the hood that replaced the one that would have been hacked apart for the Hemi and scoop, so that the next owner could enjoy that history.

When we bought the car in 2013, we did our due diligence to be comfortable with the history and decoding of the car, options and drivetrain. We encourage each potential buyer to do the same! Priced at $47,500, the vehicle is an exceptional value! Car is located in central Kansas.

Here are a few of the pictures from the restoration that show the interior paint, sound shield and the way things were before we started. Note, the body had light surface rust and not through rust, even in the B pillar areas, which is huge considering it started out life with a vinyl top!

Looks like a good start for a project. Legendary sure nailed the seat covers for mine. I had SMS do the door panels. Ouch! Not cheap but they are beautiful.

Would you please post a pic of the flat pad @ frt. of engine, in center, that has the "426" Stamping...
Thanks in advance...

AL

Let me know if you can not read these. I can remove the loom to get a better shot of the "A 426 1 28"

Shouldn’t that be stamped A426
Yes it does have the "A" then a space then the "426". I attached a blow up. I can pull the loom and get a better picture if you want, I just did not have a wrench when I went to the storage facility.

Answering a few questions I have received.
1. Selling for the need of having money to help a family member in need. Had planned to sell it when done anyway.
2. Will I take less than the listed price, yes I will so if you are serious and have an offer let me know.
3. Will I take trades? Yes I will consider trades, but need to be accompanied with at least $20,000 cash. Most interested in current generation V8 Challengers, Chargers or Ram trucks, complete street rollers; but will consider other things that are not projects.
