So in my usual way to try and fix things that aren't broke I switched from MT 31x10.5x15 slicks to Phoenix 29.5x11.5x15 slicks. They are almost the same size.

Anyone know if tire pressures would be the same? Currently running 13-13.5lbs

Thanks

You'll be in the ball park. We are running Phoenix 29.5 x 10.5 and I think I was hovering around 14lbs give or take. So 13 would be a good starting point with the Phoenix.

Glad you got slicks.
Almost Everything is back ordered for at least a month or 2. M/T has nothing and Phoenix slicks, well......good luck on that one.
You won't see a Phoenix slick till August 2021.

One thing about the Phoenix. Buddy of mine uses them on his stocker. He found they don’t do well with long burnouts. He found a short burnout right out of the water box works best for hooking up.

Appreciate that info. I have done it both ways and no improvement doing a smoky burnout. In fact it’s worse and yes I document every run.

MT slick say right on the page, little or no burnout so thats’ exactly how I do my burnout now. Getting spinning in second, shift to third and drive right out.

Frank, are the Local Tracks Open, or Scheduled yet ?

I live out near Lancaster, but haven't heard any action yet, so that is Good News, Thanks !

We ran test and tune all day Saturday 5/15. Roundy rounds test this Sat 5/22 and then drags start Tues. Jr dragster and Senior nostalgia.

Sure glad I bought tires last winter. This is crazy what we’re seeing with drag slicks right now.

I have a set of M&H bias ply cheater slicks 30x14.5 section width for sale ,never used 1 year old $300 bucks for both if anyone in the south Jersey area is interested.

Got a brand new set of Phoenix for dads car. Let me know how they work.

First pass on somewhat green track, third pass on the Phoenix @13lbs 1.69, horrible. Couldn’t race like that. Put the M/T back on @13lb 1.53 wheels in the air.
I was going to put the Phoenix back and run a couple test passes but I was too lazy. I will run them again and keep trying.
