I am planning on mounting a six pack scoop to the hood on my 69 Coronet. I was planning on getting a fibreglass hood but my buddy had a brand new scoop, so I am going that route instead. Can anyone provide the measurements for the correct placement? I would like to make it look as correct as possible.

First thing is to cut the hole in the hood and place the scoop on it. Then you know how much room you have to move it forward/backward. Fitting your air cleaner is more important than any thing else

Rear edge of hood to the start of the rear rise is 1 1/2 inches. Leading edge of the scoop is 28" from rear edge of hood.
Centered, obviously, left to right.
Measured five minutes ago, from real A12 hood.
Your measurements might be different, depending on how accurate your scoop is.
Edit: oops, measured on a rr, dodge may be different.....but i doubt it.

I’m running a 440 4bbl with the oval air cleaner. Wouldn’t the scoop location be the same for all big blocks as the distance from the firewall to the carb doesn’t change?

Great, thanks! I’m not sure it’s an exact copy but it’s pretty close. I don’t have anything to compare it to.

Most of the aftermarket scoops i have seen are a bit taller than the real hoods, and dont have the taper front to rear. The real scoop is definitely shorter in height in the rear than the front.

Not the best pics, but you can see that it has the taper. I’m going to lose the mesh screens though!

Does anyone have a Super Bee A12 hood to compare measurements with? Since both engine compartments are identical, it makes sense that the scoops on both Road Runner and Bee hoods are the distance from the rear edge???

I wish I could help, I've got a real A12 hood, but it's 250 miles away at the moment. You could call Larry at Sled City. He makes fiberglass parts for 60s mopars, including Sixpack hoods, and would surely know.

Thanks, I’ll do that.
