What in the hell is wrong with people/kids these days! In the last 2 years I've been asked 3 times to either lend or rent out my car to a kid for his high school prom! The first 2 I simply looked at and said it's a standard, end of discussion but this last one kind of pissed me off. I get a text message from a kid telling me how his mother (I barely know) said I had some cool cars that he may be able to borrow, WTF! I can see kids being this naive but a grown adult?

Do these people seriously think that a completely rust free and well running Charger is a $3,000 beater, do they not understand the time, labor and money involved? If that's not bad enough do they forget what Prom is... parking, drinking, partying... being surrounded by juveniles!!

I don't get it!

Guy at work lent his dart with a 400 to a kid for graduation. It came back ok and the kid was a straight up good kid.
Year or so later he saw his dart on a graduation video doing burn outs and doughnuts....kids getting pics on his hood.
To me it was funny because i laughed when he said what he was going to do for this "great" kid......and this was at least 20 years ago!

I remember exactly how I was at that age and that was with a 305 Camaro with an automatic and an open differential. Add a stroked 400, standard transmission and a sure grip.. yeah, not happening! I however would have never done that to someone else's car.

10-4 To That !
You & I Were Taught Respect !
Unfortunately too many people nowadays would just as soon have their way with it & give it back in pieces & not even care !

You could offer to drive them to the prom. Sure would be a memory for them.

Maybe he just wants to use the big back seat for prom??

Pretty certain being driven to prom by someone else wouldn't be cool in their books nor memorable. I'm not wasting an afternoon shuttling kids around anyways, guess that makes me an *** lol..

Yeap, there's a few scenarios that one can imagine for how the night would go.. the least of which is them driving straight to the prom and back

You got to chill man, and understand that you own one of the most advertised and desirable car on the world, a 2nd gen charger and one as nice like yours is a car to show off, at least they did not ask you to borrow your car for some *** action after the prom.
