It looks like even the car shows on TV are going green with woke BS!

Lately all the car shows on Motor Trend television are about converting cars to electric vehicles. It sucks because it's the only thing I watch on TV. All the other channels are woke bullsh*t and now they are invading the car channels too. It looks like it's over for us! Car Fix is turning a 69 Cougar convertible into a golf cart.

TV has changed in general. There is one show I watch. The rest are full of non sense. , repeats. Shows that have no purpose other that to lure you into what TV thinks you should accept.
TV was suppose to be entertaining. Not preach bull **** in there demeaning manners. Piss on them all.

If I was still golfing I would love a 69 Cougar golf cart! I see there were some guys turning an old BMW into an electric. I love Motor Trend TV and I’m okay with a little electric stuff. I had a couple VW sand rails and I think it would be fun to convert one of those like Ian did on Full Custom Garage. As long as they are not trying to force me to convert I am open to watching them build.

Wah, Wah, Wah, times change and you can't stop it.

Read a lengthy article about what the future (and present) entails with battery mfg, recycling, and disposal. It’s not pretty. It’s dangerous and toxic trying to reclaim the useable components of a battery and then what is to be done with most of the battery that is a compilation of highly toxic materials. A mass of **** having gone through an acid or burning process. Where’s all this stuff to be dumped? Burning sounds like an air pollution issue and acid dips leave a lot of spent toxic waste. The numbers of electric vehicles to enter in the next several years are staggering compared to today. What consumption of energy and what form of it is required to build millions of these huge batteries?

How long will these batteries have a reasonable-useful life? If one garners 300 miles new before a charge; what might a three or 4 year old battery retain…I’d kind a doubt it would still have 300 miles. Get a new batt? From what I’ve read, that’s not an inexpensive or even worthy effort. I've driven many of my vehicles for 10 years and have others that are 15 years old. Part of the overview is how batteries, if they’re broken in a crash, can create a volatile spew of deadly toxins, fire, and explosion. This in its current realm…is a green dream?

What’s the saying? Cart in front or behind the horse?

Tesla batteries generally last around 10 years before they start to see capacity fall off, even then the battery doesn't need to be recycled, it can be repurposed as-is as a general-purpose storage battery.

Battery tech is accelerating as fast or faster than nearly any technology over the last 100 years. All of the problems you cite are being addressed, if not on the verge of being solved. Look up glass batteries, solid state batteries, structural batteries, etc.

Sub-10-minute charge times are not that far off. Lithium ion is going the way of Betamax.

I usually keep my vehicles a while, so I'm going to hold off until the battery tech takes a couple more leaps, but time horizon isn't that far off.

Screw all that battery operated crap! No good in my area. Hope I die before I get old!

Screw all that battery operated crap!

Time to ban flashlights, pace makers, cell phones, alarm clocks, solar Hi-way road signs and internal combustion vehicles as they both need a battery to start/run, what else am I missing? Your really on the right track there ruff, let me know how that works out!

Just think diesel equipment will really love the battery pack idea! Try it with a loco the that would be interesting . Unless they can recharge themselves they won’t have a useful life unless it a commuter back and forth to work.. just don’t use your heat or ac you may wind up walking... government subsidized industry sucks the sack!

Not my show! (Roadkill Garage)...last one I saw they got Dulcich's 318-powered Chrysler Conqueror boat back in the water, in all it's open-exhaust water-polluting glory.
Fluids routinely get spilled on the ground, they wash themselves in Brakleen.....and they're Mopar guys at heart. What's not to like!:D:D

Well if someone wants to do this to his car i dont like it, but i'm okay with that.
As long as i dont get forced to do that also... I want to keep and drive my oldschool carbureted v8 for eternity.

That was great, but this won't last long after CARB and the CA. EPA see that. They'd probably take over Dulcich's farm!

They already outlawed our cars in my state, it's just a matter of when they choose to inact it.

Too late......this will be coming to a neighborhood near you soon.

Like it or not it is coming, Commiefornia will only be the first. I don't watch TV so I was unaware of what the car shows are doing but it will start with them "prepping" you for the next step which is getting you to believe your cars need to go green, then banning them. Sounds like some here are already buying into it. Don't get me wrong I think Tesla's are cool as heck and as much as I hate to admit it my wife drives a Prius back and forth from work (my Ram 2500 w/Cummins offsets the Prius though, lol). There is a time and a place for them and forcing them down our throats is wrong but on the way.

Morons who do the producing of these shows thinks that everybody wants to ditch their internal combustion engines. What the clown eco terrorists do not seem to understand is where is all this extra electricity going to come from? That's right more coal powered plants will be needed, and what happens to all those batteries when their life expectency is up? The eco clowns cannot address that one, or choose not to.
