I'm getting ready to get the car out from its 5 to 10 year slumber. The thing that I hated the most was the front caliper rattle/cluncking. I remember not finding the right clips and after a quick search, I still don't see them.
I'll be honest I forgot what they even look like but I know when I last ordered them they sent me a kit with something completely different. If I have to convert I will but to what? Thanks for any help

Nothing we seem to order is what we have. Just don't figure why we can't get the parts like we have. Maybe the part's just are not being reproduced any more. Try Summit they do get it as close to OEM as I could get. Wish you luck on the hunt for the right part's.

Same as originals is a crap shoot. Getting something that works and does the job well is sometimes the best you can do.

If you have stock type calipers, then these are what you need

Yea classic sell's a lot of OER stuff. Tried to buy direct from them but you have to be a shop or something of a distributor for them.

Ya....the 170 would be tuff to swallow....I think I found them for much cheaper at a place called Jim's. If now I think I'll try to make them now that I see what they look like.

Good luck with that..

Thanks...thats why I asked....back to sq 1

And thank you

Depending if you have Bendix or Kelsey Hayes calipers, the antirattle setup will fit or not.

Regular parts dealers carry these setups in $10-20.

The "Positioners" included on those kits are the expensive part and can be found separatelly into $20-40 rate, AND they are just for Bendix Calipers. They are not used on K-H calipers. Dunno what's s their function really.

Need to know I still don't know the correct position for the antiratttle spring so I had to figure it out to make them useable on my calipers, but doesn't look correct yet. I have K-H calipers.

Diagrams on line which actually shows the bendix system, show a diff spring than the one being sold, even for Bendix

Bendix Calipers I guess? They don't fit tight really on K-H calipers. Shoulders around the pins are not thick enough to keep the spring tension over the pad. So on that position it keeps falling down.

I had to pull them up over the caliper pin holes shoulders to make them work.

I'm trying to pull mine out this weekend...but I may have to lock my wife in the back room as she keeps making yard work for me! I stayed up till 3am cleaning the carb and it is ready to go back together...tomorrow I will have a pic of my breaks to know what I have....sorry about the rant.

breaks or brakes?

English has to be a hard language to learn. The words all have more than one meaning.

Brakes slow down a vehicle.

Break is when something is broken, or when you stop working to have a rest.
