When we got my 71 Charger R/T out of storage last Saturday, I was going through the car looking for the hood louvered insert, and unfortunately I found it folded in half behind the passenger's seat. It looked like something heavy was sitting on it! Fortunately for me, my friend had another one, or it would have been hard pressed to find another one!

Don't toss it out, someone might be willing to put some time and effort into saving it. ;)

Yep, do not throw anything away. Dont even let go of the extra parts until your project is complete. Some one some where can make use of just about everything.

They are made of that cast pot metal. I don't know anyone who has been able to successfully weld it. Has anyone else ever had any luck welding it?
They are not an easy part to find.
Fortunately my friend had another one and gave it to me with the car. I would have had a real problem finding one on decent shape. It's great to have great friends. The one on the car now is in fair shape, but it goes to my other 71 Charger R/T. The one on the right is the one that my friend gave me with the car

Louvered inserts are sometimes as much as the hoods if you can find them
